Miranda and Steve’s financial situation forces them to find an unusual way to celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary. Steve surprises his wife with a champagne picnic after work and Miranda is satisfied that love is all they really need. However, when Miranda’s sister Nicola arrives expecting to make a surprise appearance at the fancy party Miranda has talked up to her mother, Miranda’s secret snobbery is revealed. She’s been hiding their money worries to appease her overbearing mother and making up stories to compensate. Steve fears that she’s ashamed of him of their current lifestyle but Miranda tells Nicola the truth. The sisters bond and most of the Parkers are thrilled that Nicola will be sticking around for a while. Only Riley is reluctant to welcome his aunt with open arms. Just what secrets are they hiding?

Carmella returns from Italy and is furious to discover that Marco has gone into business with Elle.
