Episode 5449

Ned and Mickey return from Queensland with a surprise guest in tow: Parker patriarch Jim. Unwilling to revisit his childhood demons, Steve rejects his father’s attempts to rebuild their relationship. Although they remain loyal to Steve, Miranda and Riley soften their stance when they hear Jim’s version of what happened all those years ago. Agreeing with Ned that it’s just a case of miscommunication, they encourage Steve to hear his father out. Eventually Riley forces the issue by inviting Jim to join them on their upcoming fishing trip, much to Steve’s disgust.

Shaken by the incriminating photos, Paul assumes Kirsten is the culprit. However, he is convinced of her innocence as soon as he realises how frightened she is. The finger of suspicion points to Elle but she strenuously denies any involvement, pointing out that she now has as much to lose as Paul if the truth were to get out. Worried that the blackmailer might pose a threat to her family’s safety, Kirsten wants to go to the police but Paul and Elle work hard to convince her that it’s unnecessary. Unwilling to jeopardise his marriage to Rebecca, Paul has no choice but to wait to hear from the mystery stalker again.

Bridget’s fragile ego is further shattered when a snooty saleslady throws her and Rachel out of an exclusive dress shop. Nicola and Miranda help her get revenge Pretty Woman style but returning to the scene, buying beautiful dresses and ensuring the hefty commission goes to another store worker.

Libby’s curiosity about the mysterious Ty is piqued when Steph discovers he’s been keeping quiet about the fact that it’s his birthday. During another dance class, Libby encourages him to open up and Ty reveals that he was disowned by his family for pursuing music instead of going to law school. Keen to cheer him up, Libby throws an impromptu party but suspicious Karl worries that she’s using her new housemate to move on from Dan.
