Toadie settles back into Ramsay Street and Steph’s suspicious about the source of his newfound serenity. Feeling that she no longer has the right to ask him personal questions, Steph asks Susan if she’s heard anything. Susan sensibly points out that if Steph wants to be treated like Toadie’s mate, she should start behaving like one and just be straight with him. Going round to Number 30 with pizza and beer, Steph does exactly that and asks Toadie about the woman she saw in his photos.

Toadie shuts down and refuses to tell her anything but housemate Dan gives him some perspective. Steph is a concerned friend and she deserves the truth. Apologising with some ice-cream, Toadie tells Steph the full story. The woman in the photo runs a Timorese orphanage: he wants to adopt a child.

Ty, Karl and Susan are all astonished to learn that Rachel has a beautiful singing voice. They wonder why she has never chosen to share her talent but Zeke reveals that she used to sing with their mother Francesca. Having sung at her funeral, Rachel could never bring herself to sing in public again. Ty tricks Rachel into helping him with some harmonies and when she reveals the reason behind her reticence, he argues that her mother would want her to keep singing. Will he convince Rachel to perform at the Formal?

Zeke realises that Taylah needs to deal with what happened between her and Chris and encourages her to seek counselling. Taylah’s moved by Zeke’s loving support and agrees to talk to Karl. Karl encourages her to take responsibility for her own body but his advice comes back to haunt him when Taylah reminds him that she still wants to be put on the pill. Meanwhile, Bridget gets closer to Chris Knight and invites him to go the formal with her. Is she putting herself in danger?

Declan’s determined to go to the Formal. Having failed to impress Ty with his musical skills, is decorating going to be his pass to the party?
