Neighbours Episode Guide Episode Title: Caught in the middle Episode Number: 4731 Australian air date: 30th May 2005 UK air date: 18th August 2005 Writer: Helen MacWhirter Director: Tony Osicka Guest cast: Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), Dylan Timmins (Damien Bodie), Bobby Hoyland (Andrew McFarlane), Tony Corbett (Robert Morgan), Kazu Ishimura (Kentaro Hara).
The Ramsay Street residents are still up in arms over the possibility that the dangerous land may be sold to a global cooperation for development. David continues to insist the fault lies with Paul Robinson. Sky feels they should branch out their resistance to tackle Affirmacon whom she suspects will be the company to put in an offer for the land. The residents have an emergency meeting in Erinsborough high school. It seems people may be siding with David and his attack on Paul. Harold urges caution and Paul surprises everyone by entering the classroom. He spends a few minutes in which he suggests they agree to sell the land to Affirmacon and then try and get a court injunction to prevent them from building upon it. He leaves but his siding with the residents gets a smile from Lilijian and leaves David speechless.
David continues to pursue Lil believing that she still loves him. He repeats a discussion in which Lil attempted to put him straight to Serena who rushes off to confront Lil. She denies that implications of what David had said, that Lil would be moving far away and Serena may be forced to choose between her two parents. When Lil catches up to David the next day she explains fiercely that he's not to use Serena as a weapon in any struggle between them. David is quiet whilst she vents. He then explains that if anyone is to blame for splitting the family apart and causing Serena problems it is Lil.
The pressures of his plans are getting to Paul. Dylan has told him about his increased risk of cancer due to exposure to the toxins. Paul has managed to persuade Tony Corbett to pay Dylans medical bills, to boost Affirmacon’s image as that as a caring cooperation, but it has shake him. He also has the problem of appeasing Affirmacon as well as keeping up his good reputation with the people of Erinsborough which is hard due to their very opposing stances. David constantly attacking him in public at every opportunity and Sky trying to find as much as she can about the deal with Affirmacon also add to his stress. Whilst in Scarlets getting a drink of whiskey he spends a few minutes talking to Izzy. She's aware he lied about his dealings with Affirmacon but praises him on his other kind actions of late which point to the fact that he may be attempting to turn over a new leaf. Paul confesses that this is a hard feat to achieve.
Conner returns to work at Scarlets. Izzy welcomes him back and he spends time working alongside Bobby who also has a shift there. Bobby has spent some time with Izzy as she tries to engage his interest in the money she will be giving to him. Conner has been trying to get Toadie back into the ring alongside himself. Both are waiting on the tables outside when a group of Japanese businessmen enter. Bobby speaks a bit of Japanese and greets them. They ask in English what they can do for entertainment. Conner suggests a Karaoke machine but Bobby butts in announcing that the group is in luck as they've just begun a new venture, Conner looks nonplussed. A while later and he and Conner are standing outside Lassiters. Izzy has joined them. The businessmen come out of the hotel and into the waiting Limo which Conner will drive. Bobby tells the businessmen to get ready for a great time. He then gets in the Limo and they drive off leaving a slightly worried looking Izzy.
