Toadie attempts to save his friendship with Connor and bring him back to the house of trouser. Connor is still spending all of his time with Harold becoming more and more engrossed in helping others. Toadie's attempts to engage Connor are met with polite rebuttals much to Harold’s satisfaction. Toadie complains about his current situation and how much he misses the old Connor to Lou, who is well aware of the problem thanks to Harold kicking him out of number 22. The pair agree to work together to prise Harold and Connor apart. Connor seems to realises there’s a problem as Harold offers him half of David's life insurance money as a letter arrives informing Harold of the $150,000 payout. Harold says Conner is practically family so he will split the money between him and Sky. Connor asks for time to consider the offer and declines the offer in the General Store the next day. Connor attempts to rebuild the burnt bridge between himself and Toadie but is met with a cold acceptance. Lou tells Toadie that Conner looks ready to rejoin Toadie, Ned and Stuart in the house of trouser after eavesdropping on the conversation between Connor and Harold in which Connor refused the money. Harold also seems to be beginning to embrace his pain as Paul gives him a box of gifts to give to the needy and spends a few minutes conversing. Harold replies tersly and slams the box down after Paul has left.

Paul and Izzy embrace the Christmas spirit, Izzy especially who is geared by a skeptical Paul telling her that she’s poor at choosing gifts for friends and family. Izzy heads around to the Scullys with muffins and tries to catch Lyn for some recipe advice. She misses Lyn but enlists the help of a very willing Janelle who agrees to help her choose suitable gifts.

Lyn is unhappy with work at the salon. Gino has refused her recent request of a raise and the workload is really high. She complains to Janelle who makes things worse by revealing that Gino has given her a raise. She hypothosises that it was due to her helping out with Gino's upcoming play. Janelle suggests that Lyn tries sucking up to Gino to see if she can get the raise but Lyn has a better idea. She's found a job for a PA for Lassiters. The job pays well and is local so she decides to go for it. The next day she's waiting in the lobby of Lassiters waiting for the interview. Paul comes into the lobby and chats. She explains why she's there and asks Paul what the people she'll be working for are like. Paul’s response and smile lead her to arrive at the fact that the PA job is representing Paul. Paul asks her whether it's a problem and Lyn is left looking slightly nervous at the prospect of this new job.
