Janae is still stunned after Boyd’s proposal on the front doorstep of number 26 Ramsay Street. Boyd senses something’s wrong and Janae snaps out of the her shocked state and invites Boyd in. When they’re both sitting on the couch Janae begins to tell Boyd why she feels marriage isn’t right for them. Her main reasons against this revolve around her own changing feelings for Boyd as she reminds him of his recent behaviour. Boyd is left to return home dejectedly whilst Janae makes up her mind. He leaves the engagement ring with Janae though and she heads over to Susan’s for some advice. Susan is a little surprised to see Janae and listens as Janae explains that she thought Susan would be ideal to talk to about her current situation as Susan and Karl were childhood sweethearts. Susan points out that she and Karl are different to Janae and Boyd and admits that, whilst she doesn’t regret her years with Karl, being married at a young age and to a G.P did come with some problems. Her chat with Susan sees Janae day dreaming about a possible future with Boyd, which sees her left at home with triplets as Boyd works extreme hours at the local hospital. Boyd finds himself admitting to Max and Steph about his proposal as he is pressed about the money he got for Karls watch which he used to buy and engagement ring. Max is unhappy with the news and lets Boyd know this. Boyd resists Max’s disapproval though. Steph takes a more relaxed stance towards Boyd’s engagement telling him that she has no problem with young romance so long as it’s for the right reasons. Whilst talking to Boyd, Steph finds out that Janae hasn’t said yes to Boyd yet and she heads to the Scarlet Bar to tell Max this important fact. Max rushes back to Ramsay Street to see Janae and tell her that he’s impressed with her decision to hold off entering the engagement. Janae challenges Max as she feels he is just pleased that Boyd isn’t getting involved with the Timmins and thinks that Max may have a differing opinion if it were someone else, such as Sasha Hennessy, who had asked to marry. Janae takes the rest of the day to think about the situation with Boyd and finds heself heading to number 32 the following day. She sees Max and Steph outside and hints that she’s planning on returning the ring to Boyd and saying no to their engagement.

Karl finds himself struggling with his relationship with Jenny as it becomes clear that they’re heading in different directions. Karl is keen to start relaxing a bit more, whereas Jenny is focusing on her career in politics with the aim of getting into Parliament. This sees Jenny arrive back at their flat tired and still receiving phone calls leaving Karl waiting around for her. Karl says as much to Susan as he sees her the following day in Ramsay Street. She advises him to stick at it as a relationship is worth working on if it’s with someone you care for.

Connor is still attempting to track down Carmella. He has a faint lead as Stuart uses his police clearance to run a few checks. They show Carmella having received a parking ticked a while back but Connor finds the trail cold as the parking ticket was never paid and the car was sold soon after. Connor has other problems too as he attempts to tell Karl that he’s no longer a part of KenNEDy as Connor is concerned about the way that Karl seems to be the main heartthrob of the band. They bottle out of telling Karl though and attempt to get Susan to do their dirty work for them. Susan refuses though and they’re left with a plan to tell Karl the following morning. As the time arrives Connor is heading off to try and locate Carmella following the lead from Stuart and Ned is left to attempt to tell Karl about being ejected from the group.

Lou grows increasingly concerned about Mishka who is scaring away customers with her brash and curt words which have been brought on by her craving for nicotine. He pleads with Harold to return to his job at the General Store as Harold tells him that the psychological effects of nicotine deficiency could last for a long time. Harold is reluctant at first but Lou manages to persuade him. Lou then tells Mishka that her working so strongly alongside him causes him to feel less of a man. This has the desire effect as Mishka announces that she will quit her job at the General Store.
