Lyn Scully

After Lyn’s comments that Karl and Susan seem very close Susan fumes at Lyn’s comments and about the way people seem to be assuming that she and Karl will reunite. She points out that Alex was a big part of her life even though he was only around for a short amount of time and that she would feel a degree of betray if she were to try things with Karl again. Despite her rant though Susan admits that she does have very strong feelings for Karl and the truth of the matter seems that she really would like to return to her romantic relationship with him. Lyn suggest that Susan go for it and Susan appears to agree. The next day in the General Store she attempts to dodge Karl though, but he spots her and invites her to dinner. Susan declines at first but changes her mind after a few seconds and agrees to meet him. She tells Lyn about the dinner but still seems a little unsure as to what might happen. The dinner takes place that evening in the Scarlet Bar and as the pair settle down it looks like Susan plans to make her move during the meal. Susan tries her best to let Karl knows her feelings through actions but is foiled in the two attempts she tries. The first sees her trying to rest her hand on top of Karl’s, but he moves his hand from the table as she is trying to as he calls to a waiter to bring a desert menu. The second sees her lusting after Karl in an inner monologue in which she wonders over Karl’s eyes, smile and how he is the best looking man in the room. After announcing inside her head that she is going to kiss Karl she leans over but Karl ducks away as his phone rings. Jenny is on the other line as she has arrived at the local airport. Karl says he’ll pick her up and leaves Susan at the Scarlet bar as he goes of to pick up Jenny.

Connor is in a foul mood as he gets the news that Lori is going to move back to New Zealand with Maddy. This leads to him stating that he may move back home himself as he feels there is nothing left for him in Australia and that he hasn’t managed to achieve anything significant during his stay anyway. Ned and Carmella attempt to support him but he acts fairly coolly to most of their efforts. His bad mood spills over as he attacks Carmella about her decision to become a nun. Carmella accepts his attacks though and manages to pull him away from his problems telling him that it’s not his fault that Lori wants to be closer to her family and suggesting that he try travelling around Australia for a while rather than abandoning all of his new friends.

Mishka attempts to help Lou win back number 24 from Harold who she still believes won the house in a poker bet with Lou. As Harold suggest that he and Lou go to the cinema that evening Mishka suggests they have a boy’s night in and play cards. Harold agrees to this though Lou is a little unsettled when Mishka tells him that she is going to stay behind to help him win back the house. Her plan is to stand behind Harold and tells Lou what hand he has but Lou insists that Mishka leave them alone for the evening. Mishka finds this too hard though and calls at number 30 to see if Connor will lend her his binoculars that he uses whilst he carries out his private investigation jobs. She then stands on their doorstep and watches Lou and Harold using the binoculars to loo through the window of number 24. Lou and Harold aren’t playing poker though and Lou still seems to be loosing so Mishka calls Lou to ask him what is going on. Lou attempts to dodge her questions and draws the blinds when he realises how Mishka is watching them. Mishka arrives back at number 24 a little while after and attempts to confront Lou about what is going on. He and Harold were playing snap but as Mishka looks at Lou’s cards she announces that he has a winning poker hand and asks him why he hasn’t used it. Lou attempts to work his way out of the situation but Harold cuts through his words and settles the matter by telling Mishka that number 24 is his house and it has never been owned by Lou.

Paul offers to lend an ear when it becomes clear that Lyn’s mind is elsewhere whilst they are working on some facts and figures inside number 22. Lyn is reluctant to tell him what is going on as she feels awkward telling him other people’s business. Paul suggest that she isn’t telling him because she doesn’t trust him and tells her that he is a good listener and make be able to offer some advice. Lyn seems keen to tell someone about what is happening so agrees and tells him about Susan and Karl. A while later and they’re in number 26 and Paul is helping Lyn pour stew into a collection of Tupperware tubs. He is wearing the Scully’s apron and offers his own advice on the Susan and Karl potential relationship stating that if they love each other they should attempt to get things back on track as life is very short. They’re interrupted by Susan who remarks on how Lyn appears to have got the tough businessman Paul Robinson domesticated. Lyn waves this away but finds herself with Paul again later on as she calls in at the General Store and sees him eating dinner. He tells her that he didn’t fancy cooking for one again as both Elle and Robert are out. After hearing this Lyn joins him to nibble on some of his dinner as he has ordered too much for just himself to eat and the pair resume discussing Karl and Susan.
