The pair meet in the General Store but the date and the conversation don’t seem to live up to Rachel’s expectations. She explains to Susan later that it didn’t have the same relaxed nature as is present when spending time with Stingray. Susan advises her to give it time as that’s all it takes for close bonds to form like the one Rachel has with Stingray are formed.
Mishka treats Lou with a cold shoulder thanks to the news of his lies over owning number 24 Ramsay Street. Lou is apologetic but Mishka does her best to ignore him and acts indifferent during the snatches of conversation they do share. She also attempts to crack on to Harold whenever Lou is around which leads to Lou frantically telling Harold that Mishka seems to have only expressed interest in him because she thought he had money when the pair are alone in the kitchen of the General Store. Harold rubbishes this and informs Lou that Mishka is just playing with him pretending to like Harold as revenge for Lou’s lies. Lou cheers up at this and comes up with a plan to issue Mishka with an ultimatum to either be more civil towards him or leave number 24. This plan backfires quickly though when put into practice as Mishka simple agrees to leave and Lou has to spend the rest of the evening trying to coax Mishka out of her bedroom which she refuses despite his pleas. Eventually he manages to talk to her as she makes to leave number 24. He manages to explain that he loves her and only lied to save face and not disappoint her. Mishka is impressed with his words and admits that she wants to stay with him in Australia.
Sky and Elle quit their jobs at the Melbourne call centre after they realise that harassing people by attempting to sell the items over the phone isn’t the best use of their time. This realisation came when Sky attempted to use some of her Ramsay Street contacts to earn some much needed commission. She called Susan who was in the middle of dinner and explained that she didn’t appreciate be interrupted in such a way. With the decision to quit Sky attempts to organise a mass protest by encouraging her fellow call centre peers to throw down their headsets and give up their jobs in protest. This doesn’t inspire them and leaves Sky stating that she’d love to have lived in the 60’s whilst she and Elle leave the call centre. Elle and Sky later apologise to Susan as they bump into her at the Scarlet Bar. Susan tells them that she hopes it wasn’t because of her that she quit their jobs. Both Elle and Sky said it wasn’t and explain what they plan to do now that they’re no longer employed. Sky plans to return to studying art whilst Elle reverts back to relying on Paul for money.
Steph attempts to make Max reconsider his attacks on Boyd over Janae pointing out that trying to stop Boyd from seeing Janae will only push the pair together. Max is determined that Boyd think about the trouble he could be getting into with Janae as he feels that the marriage to Janae is a marriage to their family and Max is very concerned over the lack of values he feels the Timmins posses. Whilst trying to convince Boyd to see sense in the General Store Max explains that Boyd appears to be clouded in judgement as he’s focusing on “the package” and that Max can see the whole picture which is why alarm bells are ringing for him. Boyd states firmly that he’s not bothered about Max’s feelings about Janae and her family and that he will marry he with or without his blessing. Max later issues an ultimatum to Boyd whilst Boyd is listening to music in the living room of number 32. Steph tries to stop Max as she sees where his words are going but Max tells Boyd that he either puts his studying first and cancels his marriage to Janae or he has to leave number 32.
Karl is thrilled at the news that Ned still wants for them to play together despite the loss of Connor who has left Ramsay Street. He had assumed that was the end of KenNEDy but is please to be shown otherwise. Ned further delights him by telling them that they have a paid booking for a birthday party with a youngish crowd who know how to party. Ned does tell Karl that he wants to change the line up of the band, making himself the leave singer and having Karl on guitar and backing vocals.
