Robert ups his attack on Elle in a big way after he discovers that she is heading out to the Yarra Valley to go wine tasting. Having talked to his unconscious brother earlier he then attaches a bomb to Paul’s car which Elle will be using to get to her wine tasting event. He manages to attach the bomb without any problems though he is startled by Elle and Paul who return unexpectedly as he is still working on the car. He manages to pretend that he is just checking it over though and escapes detection. Things continue to go wrong the next day when Elle attempts to leave. She finds the car wont start and Paul threatens to throw Roberts plans into disarray as he suggest that Elle just takes a car from the fleet at Lassiter’s. Desperate to keep things in his control Robert gets Elle out of the car and tries to start it himself, growing more frantic as Paul rings up Lassiter’s. Robert catches a break as the car springs to life and Paul cancels the Lassiter car. Elle heads off in the jaguar whilst the bomb beneath her activates and begins counting down to detonation.

Toadie finds himself invited over to Susan’s by Katya for dinner. He sees that it is a ploy by her to get at Robert, who had been watching her when she asked Toadie, but the pair find their friendship still intact and spend time together.

The fallout from Janelle admitting being behind the DVD piracy ring continues as she concocts a story for the court despite Toadie pleading with her to keep things as above board as possible. Toadie continues to despair as he overhears snatches of Janelle’s schemes to help keep the police interest from Dylan. Janae and Janelle find a degree of peace after Janelle instructed her daughter to move out of number 26. Janae explains that she is happy living in number 30 with Toadie despite Janelle asking her to return home.

Izzy realises that there is a problem with Robert when his MP3 player comes back from the I.T specialist with the real recordings which he used to set up Izzy with are revealed. She shows it to Max who urges Izzy to show Paul the truth especially as it reveals a very malicious streak in Robert. Izzy convinces Max to join her as she feels Paul will simply ignore her is she approaches him alone. As expected Paul tries to shut the door on Izzy when he opens it and finds her standing there. Max is besides her though and gets Paul to let them in. Upon hearing the recording Paul flashes back to earlier in the day when Robert was aggressively trying to get the car to start. He thinks of Elle and rings her up to check she is o.k. He is relieved to find her o.k as she pulls over in the Jaguar to answer the phone. He gently suggests that Elle let him send out to her to take her the rest of the way. Elle isn’t keen on the idea though and explains that she is going alone. Whilst both are talking the bomb is ticking down towards zero. With only a few seconds left on the clock Izzy snatches the phone and yells at Elle to get out of the car. Elle hesitates for a few seconds but the urgency in Izzy’s voice sees her dashing out of the car and down a hill at the roadside. The car explodes in a ball of fire behind her and she is forced to thrust he hands above her head whilst debris falls around her. Moments later she is left looking back in horror and shock at the remnants of the car.

Robert faces further complications which end up playing into his hands. He returns to St. Luke’s to see Cameron but finds the bed empty. Whilst puzzling over what has happened his brother appears behind him and hits him over the head with a metal bar sending Robert sprawling to the floor where he lies unconscious. Unaware of the problems back in Ramsay Street Cameron then dresses in Roberts clothes and returns to the street where his promptly wrestled into a fierce hold by Max and is questioned by Izzy and Paul. Having no idea what has happened Cameron attempts to explain all that has gone on. His truthful story about how Robert crashed a car with him in, and his stay in St. Luke’s sound like poor excuses to those gathered in number 22 and he faces the problem that his brother have been weaving complex lies all the time he has been in Ramsay Street so it is impossible for him to be believed. Robert meanwhile awakens back at St. Luke’s. He spots an opportunity and quickly switches into Cameron’s hospital gown and leaps into his bed attaching the breathing tubes to himself and begins to pretend he is his brother and is still in a coma. The hospice staff that come in to check on him fail to spot the difference and his ploy is in place.
