Robert surprises all as he decides to awaken from his pretend coma whilst Katya is tending to him in Erinsborough hospital. Katya was already hesitant about treating him after the break up of their relationship. Karl provides support though as she expresses her concerns reminding her that Robert is the twin of the person who she was dating (though given the turn of events it’s Robert who she was dating and Robert who is in the hospital). Katya is still shocked when Robert comes around and yelps and dashes out of the room when he stirs.
Ned attempts to voice his concerns about Oscar’s welfare as Lyn appears to have less and less time to look after him now she is more involved in working with Paul for the Lassiter cooperation. He mentions this to Karl who turns on his accusations against Lyn emphasising the strong care that she has given Oscar so far and the simple fact that it is hard being a single working mother. Ned still seems unhappy though and his worries are nudged again as he calls at number 26 and finds Lyn putting work before Oscar again.
Izzy continues to worry about her relationship with Paul now that Gail is in Erinsborough. She finds herself retreating to the Scarlet Bar and confiding in Max for support. Izzy has written off her relationship with Paul but is given hope as she is explaining this to Max as Elle stops by the bar and tells Izzy how much she means to her. Buoyed by Elle Izzy finds herself inviting Gail to stay with them in number 22 rather than the hotel room she was planning. Whilst Izzy fears are allayed Paul reveals that there were grounds for concern as he confides in Lyn explaining that the presence of Gail has woken some old feelings for his ex wife.
Having pretended to wake from his coma Robert continues the switch he has made with Cameron by behaving in the way he would have had he been unconscious during recent events. He tries to warn Karl about what Cameron is up to and about the crash leaving Karl to explain that everything is o.k. He also treats Elle and Paul as coolly as may be expected given the poor relations he has had with both his father and his sister. Instead he requests to speak with Gail alone though with persuasion from her he chats for a short while with both of them. He also attempts to rebuild bridges with Katya apologising for scaring her when he first came around and telling her that he’d like to become friends and put the things that Cameron has done to both of them in the past.
Max continues to worry about Boyd who is sitting his first year medical exams. His worries aren’t helped by Ned who reveals that Boyd left for his first exam with a stethoscope super glued to his head and Max deduces that Boyd was up late in the night partying with Toadie. Max attempts to get more information from Ned but Ned tells him that there’s a house of trouser code of conduct which he has already come closer to breaking.
