Katya attempts to warn off her competitors for Ned's affection. Loris is her first target and Katya points out that it is clear that Loris has feelings for Ned. Loris lashes back at Katya's verbal warning suggesting that she isn't the only threat to the relationship between Katya and Ned and that Ned will leave Katya for class and sophistication. Katya also confronts Carmella and orders her to stay away from Ned, pointing out that no-one would stand in the way of their relationship.

Max continues to be unstable which unnerves Steph and moves her to tears. Having been told that Max can return home having made good progress Steph appears more concerned than encouraged by the news. Max makes her more uneasy as he calls her Claire whilst the pair spend time alone in his hospital room. He is unaware that he has uttered the name of his deceased wife, but it throws Steph and helps to cement her belief that she cannot look after Max alone. Despite the positive report from the Doctor, Max continues to hallucinate, hearing threatening and menacing exchanges and comments by his friends and family which don't occur. As the doctor returns to see Max before leaving the hospital he grows violent as the pressure of his hallucinations break him. Crying out as to whether his action seem normal he begins hurling objects around his hospital room. As he tires he returns to a more relaxed manner muttering quietly to himself.

Encouraged by Ned and Carmella Harold attempts to update his image in an effort to impress Loris. This sees Harold drop his older image and dress in a slimming black outfit. Despite Loris waving away attempts by Ned to work Harold into their conversation, Loris compliments him on his new look when they see each other later. Harold musters up enough courage to ask Loris out for a meal and a show and to his surprise she accepts.

Paul offers Lyn and Elle a change to head over to New York as a treat. The idea would be to meet up with Flick and Michelle whilst enjoying a break in America. Elle, who seems to be feeling more and more remorseful over what has happened to Max, declines quickly. Lyn finds herself joining Elle due to her concerns over Max's health and the impact it is having on Steph.
