Steph continues to worry about Max and the condition his mind is in. After his breakdown in his room the previous evening the hospital revert their decision to discharge Max angering Steph and Boyd. Janae attempts to calm them both down but experiences Max's problems as Boyd leaves her alone with Max after the both enter his room to see how he is. Janae attempts to hold a conversation nervously, however Max seems distant and unfocused.

After spending the night with Katya at number 28, Ned ropes Katya into helping him choose a new housemate from the batch which called about his advert in the General Store. After spending much of the day interviewing people they both settle on different choices. Ned is interested in the enthusiastic Pepper and more refined Frazer who present themselves as a couple as they are engaged. Katya is less happy with the pair and suggests Will who talked about his travels around Nepal and the world which instantly warmed Katya to him.

After hearing about Max being kept in the hospital Elle decides to take actions into her own hands and pays Max a visit. He is sitting awkwardly in his dark hospital. Looking at him Elle admits the truth about her setting him up to look as though he was loosing his mind. Explaining that this was done out of revenge for what happened to Cam, Elle apologises telling Max that she realises that such acts would not bring her brother back and that she would stop immediately. Max appears to be only half interested in her worlds and cuts into her conversation, calling Elle Steph and telling her that he believes she would manage fine without him. Elle looks uneasy at Max's words and retreats from the room quickly as he tells her that she should go.

By coincidence Will, Frazer and Pepper all arrive at the Scarlet bar as their interviews with Ned and Katya finish. Frazer and Will exchange a few pleasantries as they order at the bar. There is chaffing from the outset though as Frazer comments on Will's expensive watch. Will shrugs off his query and walks away whilst Frazer is still making conversation. As Frazer sits down with Pepper he comments that he suspects that Will is light fingered and warns her to watch her handbag. The group get phone calls at the same time telling them that they have secured rooms at number 30. The group find themselves meeting again as they all converge on Ramsay Street.

A problem presents itself for Ned in the shape of Rosetta Cammeniti who arrives as Will, Pepper and Frazer are moving their things into number 30. She explains that Tim has said that she can have Toadie's room while he is in Sydney, leaving more people than rooms. Ned begins to turn her away when Frazer leaps in and suggest that she take Will's room and that Will finds somewhere else to stay. Ned quickly finds a comprise and Rosetta takes Will's room and Will takes the third much smaller room in number 30.

Steph and Boyd arrive at Erinsborough hospital after getting the news that they can take Max home. They're told that Max is in his room heavily sedated but the door is opened to an empty bed. Steph and Boyd stare at each other in shock as the nurse rushes to get help.
