Will attempts to rescue Pepper as he hears her screams coming from the room she shares with Frazer. He rushes into the room with Rosetta close behind and finds Frazer gripping a struggling Pepper. Will breaks Frazer's grip and bundles him aside demanding to know what he was doing. Rosetta tells Will to calm down as she notes that Pepper is still sleeping. As Pepper wakens she sheepishly admits that she has a sleeping disorder that causes the small fits.

Steph and Boyd continue to worry about Max given his disappearance from Erinsborough hospital. The police are called and Sgt. Alan Steiger goes over CCTV footage with them which show Max leaving the hospital during the afternoon. Steiger also asks several questions about their last encounters with Max. This sees several flashback scenes as the characters remember analyse Max's behaviour as they saw him last.

Despite attempting to dodge her sister Carmella comes face to face with Rosetta in the General Store. They greet each other politely however they proceed to take shots at each other in the conversation that follows. As Carmella mentions the recent failures in Rosetta's romantic life, Rosetta gets up in anger and leaves.

The strangeness of the relationship between Pepper and Frazer is increased as they spend time in the Scarlet Bar with Will and Rosetta. Allan Steiger enters and expresses surprise at seeing his daughter. He is given a further shock as Frazer presents himself as Pepper's fiancé. This is news to Steiger though he is called away on police business before he can ask any questions.

Bree finds herself at number 28 reporting to Karl and Susan that Zeke is planning to get a tattoo. Her comments spring Karl and Susan into action and they track down Zeke to the General Store just as he was about to head off. Having been told by Bree that the tattoo was to be done by Garret's brother, Karl makes up a patient who he says is being treated for blood poisoning. This seems to quell Zeke's protests at their intervention and Susan warns him that if he still tries to go through with it she will go there and drag him out in front of all of his friends.

The new number 30 residents have a outside BBQ party as suggested by Pepper as a way to break down some of the tension that had formed between them. Over the BBQ Pepper suggest that they each say a truthful thing about themselves as a way to get to know each other. Pepper's truth is that her father is very overprotective and explains that this is why she kept Frazer a secret. Rosetta admits that although she gives off an air that she knows everything she doesn't, and that moving into Ramsay Street was the first time she had ever lived away from home. Frazer tells them all that he is not a businessman, he is a professional gambler.

The police locate Max's jacket and the family photo he kept in his wallet under the bench at the local bus stop. As Steph arrives she drifts off and a montage is seen showing Max leaving Erinsborough on a bus the previous night. The shots of Max mingle with Steph's current actions and it's almost though they are both aware of each others presence. They both look towards each other as the bus pulls away into the night.
