The new comers to number 30 begin to stick together as they spend more time getting to know each other. They unite against Karl who calls around to request that they turn down the music that they're playing whilst hanging out around the pool in the back garden of number 30. Karl points out that he is looking after a baby and the noise is causing problems. Frazer and Pepper challenge him on this though and his threat to call the police is turned away as Pepper points out that her father is Sgt. Steiger.

Rosetta's break from home is short lived as her mother, Lucia Cammeniti, storms into the kitchen of number 30. Rosetta had been in the process of showing off her cooking skills to the other number 30 residents but Lucia waves them all away demanding they give her a chance to talk to her daughter. Once alone Lucia turns on her daughter demanding to know what is going on. Rosetta's will seems to crumble as Lucia points out that the order she has brought to Rosetta's live was to help rather than to hinder. By the time Lucia leaves Rosetta has agreed to move back home and marry the husband Lucia has chosen for her.

Despite Steph pleading with him not too, Boyd takes the search for Max into his own hands. After trying to get a response from a bus driver who appears to have been on duty as Max left Erinsborough Boyd turns to posting flyers offering a reward of $1000 for information about his father. This campaign is done without the knowledge of Steph who is unnerved by a phone call from someone informing her that he had seen Max and then immediately demanding money. The caller, Bob, calls the following day and Boyd manages to arrange a meeting with him. Despite being unsure of the whole process, having already received a load of weird phone calls from people just interested in the money, Steph insists that she join them. The pair find themselves standing in a secluded alley waiting for the man. He arrives shortly after and tells them that he has seen Max. He offers little proof of this and Steph challenges him. In response Bob holds out a wedding ring which Steph recognises as Max's. The main explains that he held on to Max as long as he could but Boyd is enraged and throws the man up against the nearby wall growling that Max would never give up his wedding ring willingly.

Katya continues to court Ned and appears to encourage him to express his feeling for her. Ned asks Katya to drop the discontent she seems to be harbouring for Carmella insisting that there is nothing between them. Katya seems to take this on board as she stops in mid rant as she complains about Carmella and the Cammeniti's in general as the new comers mention the problems Rosetta is having with Lucia.

The new number 30 gang get a shock when they return home and find Rosetta ready to leave. The guys encourage her to reconsider but it's Pepper who drags Rosetta aside and tells her to really think about what she is doing. Peppers calls to rally for independence are lessened to a degree by a phone call from her father shortly after in which she meekly agrees that she and Frazer will join her father for dinner in a few days but both girls see the funny side of the phone call. The following day as Lucia arrives to take her daughter home she is met with a stronger willed Rosetta. Lucia tries to cow her daughter again but Rosetta marches her to the front door of number 30 and orders her mother out, much to the delight of Frazer and Pepper who had been quietly watching the scene and join Rosetta in the celebrations of standing up to her mother.

Will gets a bundle of cash through the post with a cryptic note which reads "Will, when are you going to wake up to yourself? Here is something to get you by. Alan Napier.". Will takes a single $100 and then burns the rest.
