Rosetta hides her growing feelings for Will but finds herself thinking about him constantly and writing about him in her journal. She is badgered into helping Carmella out as she prepares to date Will for a second time. With Will having sorted out the first date he encourages Carmella to wow him for the second. Carmella admits to Rosetta that she hasn’t had to prepare a date before as most of her past dates were arranged by the guy. Reluctantly Rosetta agrees to help, telling Carmella that Will would like an evening that was simple but interesting. Thinking along those lines Carmella decides to create an Italian feast for them, but she need the help of Rosetta as her sister points out that Carmella can’t cook.
Karl and Dr. Olenski attempt to control Sky’s contractions in the aim of postponing the pregnancy for as long as possible. She takes drugs to try and control the contractions but, despite working at first, her waters break a moment later and she begins to enter labour.
Stingray staggers around the nearby Lassiter park. He has a brown bag with alcohol in it and settles down near the swings. He pulls his phone from his pocket and listens to one of two voicemail messages from Sky. He hears her telling him he will be a great father and that she really wants to see him. He moves to take a drink from the bottle in his other hand but resists it and heads to the hospital instead. Once there he is quickly turned away by Karl who calls security to back him up. Karl tells Stingray to sort himself out and that he will not be allowed near Sky whilst he is drunk.
Whilst waving Rosetta and Will off as they drive to Lassiters, Carmella spots Teresa coming down the drive of number 24. She calls out to her cousin, however Teresa begins to run as she hears Carmella. Carmella attempts to stop her and chases Teresa into number 30. There Teresa comes to a dead end as the back door is locked. Teresa is wearing Carmella’s Erinsborough Hospital uniform and Carmella demands to know why. Teresa informs her that she is going to retrieve her baby. She changes this to “the baby inside of her” as Carmella points out that Teresa doesn’t have a child and Carmella works out that she is talking about taking Sky’s baby. Carmella attempts to stop Teresa from leaving the room however Teresa attacks her using a pan of boiling water that had been bubbling on the stove in preparation for the meal Carmella was trying to cook.
Things at the hospital get worse as the fire alarm begins to blare. Sky is shaken by the alarm and Karl disappears to find out what is happening. Outside the room the hospital is being evacuated as a blaze started by Teresa in one of the offices spreads throughout the hospital. Given that Sky is a long way through the birth it is not possible to move her so Karl returns to the room assuring those inside that everything is fine. Sky continues to push with the contractions and she soon gives birth, naming the child Kerry as soon as she sees her. Kerry is quickly incubated so Sky is unable to hold her and both mother and child are wheeled quickly from the room into the thick smoke outside. As they are pushed towards the exit Sky catches sight of Teresa who slips past them.
Will calls at number 24 with a bottle of wine and some flowers for his date with Carmella. His tapping isn’t answered and he begins to realise that no-one is home. He dejectedly makes his way back to number 30 where he finds Carmella sprawled on the floor with the pan and water surrounding her. She responds woozily to his attempts to see if she is o.k and rushes her to the hospital. Carmella attempts to explain her concern over Teresa, however she is fuzzy and Will quietens her as he attempts to get help.
With the fire blazing inside Janelle, Loris and Janae watch helplessly after being evacuated with everyone else who was inside. Janelle attempts to re-enter the hospital to try and help Sky but she is held back by Janae and Loris. Janae spots Stingray rushing into the hospital but her shouts to him are ignored.
Sky is moved to another part of the hospital and Karl tells her that the fire has been confined to the east wing. They approach a room and Karl tells her that Kerry is inside waiting. Sky quickly enters and approaches the cot, but finds it empty. She turns to Karl and demands to know where her baby is.
