The hunt for Kerry Mangel begins as it becomes clear that she has been taken from Erinsborough Hospital. At first Karl believes there has simply been a delay in getting Kerry to Sky’s room. The presence of a cot in the room says otherwise and Dr. Olenski informs them that the last time she saw Kerry was as she left her in that room. The main suspect quickly becomes Teresa as Carmella continues to try to explain about Teresa’s plans to take the child. Lying in a hospital bed, Carmella explains how Teresa lost her child and has been unstable ever since. Harold remains at Sky’s bedside keeping her calm and telling her that Kerry will be fine.
The police are called to the hospital as concerns about Kerry grown. Sgt. Steiger takes over proceedings and the police attempt to locate Teresa. She is found outside Grease Monkeys pushing a pram. Steiger rolls past in his squad car and talks to her. She responds calmly and asks politely whether he has found her baby. As Steiger approaches the pram he finds it empty.
Bree and Rachel attempt to track down Stingray as these events unfold feeling that he should be kept up to date. They wander around the neighbourhood with a picture of Stingray asking various strangers whether they have seen him. Rachel finally finds him sleeping off a hangover in a bush. He has a bulge under his jumper however this proves to be a small teddy bear. He is slow to get up but comes to his sense quickly as Bree and Rachel explain that Kerry has been kidnapped.
Janelle is furious at Carmella as the extent of Teresa’s psychiatric problems are uncovered. She begins yelling at Carmella and then Rosetta as she attempt to intervene. She eventually has to be removed from the room by Steiger as she threatens both Cammeniti’s and points out the connection the pair have to illegal mafia style activities.
Stingray finds himself being interrogated by Steiger as he is declared a suspect in the investigation into the kidnap of Kerry. Stingray had been at Sky’s side when Steiger found him and took him away for questioning. Stingray tells the sergeant that he doesn’t remember anything from the previous night a fact which is put down to him having drunk a lot of alcohol. Steiger attempts to force Stingray to admit he took Kerry after being shunned by his family and friends. Stingray continues to deny having anything to do with Kerry’s disappearance though and Steiger relents.
Carmella is taken into surgery as the medical staff at Erinsborough Hospital attempt to deal with her burns. She is watched by Rosetta and Will. Karl seems happy with Carmella’s condition but is less confident when the question of a permanent scarring from the burns is raised.
Stingray is taken to the place where he spent the night by police. The plan is to trace his steps from the previous night to see whether any new evidence is revealed. Stingray isn’t much help as he cannot remember any of his actions from the night. Exasperated Steiger suggests Stingray empties his pockets to look for things like receipts he may have gotten whilst looking for the alcohol he was sleeping off. Stingray obliges and pulls out a baby tag from one of his pockets which reads “Baby Mangel, Mother Sky”.
Rosetta attempts to talk to her cousin about the events of the previous night. Teresa clams up when Rosetta mentions that she is her cousin, making it clear that she is not a fan of the Cammeniti family. Rosetta grows frustrated and points out that harm Teresa has caused Carmella. Teresa is unrepentant and tells Rosetta that it was Carmella that killed her baby so she deserves no sympathy.
Sky tries to remain positive despite the desperate circumstances. She remains certain that Stingray isn’t responsible for Kerry’s disappearance and that Kerry is fine. Janelle reveals that Kerry’s medical tag was found on Stingray but Sky tells her that he wouldn’t have hurt Kerry.
