Janelle distances herself from her son as Stingray is brought back to number 26 as the police don’t have enough to charge him. He attempts to explain himself to Janelle but she quickly leaves him to go to the hospital to lend her support to Sky.

Harold and Loris are also at the hospital attempting to distract Sky from her worries. Kerry is very much on her mind though and the stress of being apart from her baby can be seen in the frustration displayed on her face. She eventually snaps and tells those gathered that she wishes to return to Ramsay Street. Harold is reluctant to take her back to number 24, which is covered in baby items that were gathered for the arrival of Kerry, however Karl agrees with Sky stating that medically there is little reason for her to stay in the hospital.

Dylan gets a call from the front desk of the hotel he is staying telling him to vacate his room. He apologises for hanging around and begins to gather Kerry and her things. A tap on the door distracts him and he gets a surprise when, instead of an impatient member of staff, he finds Elle waiting for him. He is less than pleased at her appearance and seizes on the opportunity Elle gives him to get rid of her quickly. She hears Kerry’s murmuring and jumps to the conclusion that Dylan has spent the night with another woman. He agrees with this however his plan is foiled as a furious Elle is taken over by disbelief as she hears the sounds of Kerry gurgling inside the room more clearly.

Sky returns home just as Harold and Loris are hastily removing the final pieces of baby paraphernalia. Sky rushes to Harold and they hug each other, both overcome with grief for Kerry. Those inside number 24 all sit down at the table with Loris, Janelle and Harold attempting to help Sky get through the difficult time. An argument breaks out as Harold begins to pray for Kerry. Janelle is frustrated with this as she feels Harold is giving up on the chances of Kerry surviving, a point that Janelle will not agree with.

Elle acts as her pleas to Dylan to return Kerry to her mother are ignored. Dylan insists that he is Kerry’s father and that he is a much better than her alcoholic father and lying mother. As Dylan loads his car Elle dives into the driver seat and locks all the doors. Kerry is inside with her in the back of the car and Elle drives off throwing the keys to her car out of the window and yelling for Dylan to use them to follow her back to Ramsay Street. By the time Dylan returns to the street Kerry is safely with Sky after Elle left her outside number 24 and knocked on the door. Steiger comes rushing into the street but is unable to locate the person who left Kerry after Elle tells him she and Dylan have only been there for a few minutes and saw nothing suspicious.

Sky and her family and friends return to Erinborough hospital to get Kerry checked over to ensure she is o.k. During the celebrations Harold seizes on the good cheer and kisses Loris firmly on the lips. Janelle joins in by doing the same thing to Allan Steiger. Stingray arrives a while later and informs Sky that he is getting his life back on track for himself, Sky and Kerry.

Sky is holding Kerry in her arms when Dylan arrives at the hospital. He enters just as Kerry begins to whimper and suggests Sky try to burp her. Sky is impressed with his knowledge about how to care for Kerry. She gets a shock as Dylan explains that he knows this as he believes he is Kerry’s father.
