Carmella returns home from the hospital having left early as she grew tired of her stay there. She surprises Rosie and Pepper and gets a look at how people may treat her after the accident as Rachel and Bree fall silent in shock as they view the extent of Carmella’s scarring. This experience throws Carmella into a bout of insecurity and she heads straight for her room in number 24. Harold attempts to rebuild her confidence by taking her to a nearby soup kitchen were he helps out as part of his involvement with the Salvation Army. Those being served barely look at Carmella’s scar and Harold points out that, whilst Carmella’s scarring is terrible, there are many people in the world worse off. The evening at the soup kitchen picks Carmella up and she finds the courage to head out into the street the next morning. She is confident as she meets Frazer for the first time since her accident and he bluntly expresses horror at her injury. Things worsen as she clashes with both Rosetta and Will as she announces that she is not going to have surgery which will help lessen the damage to her face. Having explained that she feels that she should be content with the cards she has been dealt she suggests that both Rosie and Will are very superficial as they struggle to understand her choice.

Frazer and Will get to see another side of Steiger whilst out in the bush. He reverts to a more primal man, leaving both of them quivering as he takes them hunting and turns over his crossbow for them to kill the wild boars they hunt. Neither Will or Frazer are keen to take on the challenge and the task is eventually assigned to Frazer as Will explains his beliefs prevent him from killing animals. Frazer is as horrified at the thought of killing the boar though Steiger seems unaware of his reluctance and pulls him along as he tracks the animals. Eventually they trap one and Steiger leads the way by crawling on his stomach so they can get close and instructs Frazer to shoot. Frazer recounts the event to Will later as they sit alone next to the roasting boar. He failed to kill the animal but he found himself gutting it to make up for his mistake after Steiger made the kill. They pair sit talking in subdued tones as Steiger continues to grow in their outdoor surroundings. They get a shock as he grows sombre later as they huddle in the small tent and he tells them that he regrets focusing on his job rather than Kris who could hold her own easily whilst out in the Bush. Will and Frazer try to stop him as he reaches into his bag in a fit of passionate rage, but he simply pulls out a bear which he tells them was Kris’s. As Will and Frazer attempt to get to sleep they are disturbed again by Steiger singing outside the tent. They are fearful of his slightly deranged toned and he can be seen as a shadow on the tent wall wondering around with cross bow in hand. They begin to speculate on what they should do thinking that they may make a dash for the truck and abandon Steiger as he seems to have lost his mind entirely. In the end they make it back to Ramsay Street in one piece but are less than enthusiastic when Pepper cheerfully asks how their trip went. Steiger is the only one who is as happy as Pepper and he lets her know that he feels Frazer proved himself a suitable match whilst out on the trip.

Loris continues to worry about her act of swapping Bree and Anne when they were born. Harold’s initial response is to revoke their friendship and ask her to leave number 24. She finds further distress as Bree confides the fact that she feels lost and alone ever since the truth of the childhood swap was revealed. After listening to Bree recount her unhappiness, Loris tells her that she will do everything in her power to put things right for Bree. She later tells Harold that, rather than telling the Timmins about her part in the mix up, she will attempt to reunited Bree with her birth family the Baxters a quest which will see her leaving Ramsay Street.

Zeke attempts to dodge Pepper whenever she is nearby after he blurted out that he loved her during her engagement celebrations at number 30. Rachel teases her brother about his apparent crush and delights in pointing out his hiding place behind the sofa in number 28 as Pepper calls at the house looking for him. Pepper sits down with Zeke and explains that their encounter was whilst she was sleepwalking and that her declaration of love was meant for Frazer. Zeke takes this on board but insists that Frazer isn’t a good match for Pepper.
