Whilst Rachel and Guy are at her side, Katya opens her eyes. The initial joy of seeing her awaken is quickly quelled by Karl who tells them that Katya remains in a coma despite this change in state and adds that the longer she remains in such a condition the greater chance of brain damage and memory losss. As Guy is left alone with Katya his friendly demeanour disappears and he snarls his frustration at being doubled crossed by Katya pointing out that he will stay in Erinsborough until she is in a state to tell him where she has hidden the $100,000. He appears rattle when the police arrive to continue investigating why Katya was shot and is forced to flee the hospital room before the officers see him.
Lou continues to try and boost Mishka’s chances of gaining a visa to stay in Australia by attempting to create more fake evidence that they have know each other for 20 years. Harold is shocked to find Lou forging his signature, along with Susan’s and Toadies, in an effort to improve the credibility of their stories. Harold leaps at the chance to help when he finds that they are planning to create a series of fake home movies in an effort to document their 20 years history. At Lou’s reluctance Harold reminds him of his involvement in several amateur Erinsborough productions and helping discover Nina Tucker, who has risen to fame in Bollywood and is about to emulate this success in America.
Frazer begins to try and win Rosetta after he expressed a deep desire to have a relationship with her. He drops all pretences wearing a small towel around his waist as he waits for Rosetta to return home to number 30. As she does he moves in close an attempts to explain his feelings again. This proves successful but a very flustered Rosie picks up on his scheming when she notes his deep words are lifted from one of the trashy romance novels lying around number 30.
The police investigation into Katya’s mysterious attack turns sour as a search of her room at number 28 reveals various tools which would be used by criminals during a break in. Her friends and family remain sceptical as the police begin to believe Katya is responsible for the recent car thefts in the area. Their arguments are dampened as Steiger lifts up Katya’s arm to reveal week old bruising which she had sustained when fending off Ned as she stole Karl’s car.
Pepper and Frazer come clean about their scam to Allan Steiger. Frazer agreed to help Pepper break the news but he soon flees from the scene as Steiger vents about how he took him camping and paid for the lavish engagement party at number 30. Once Frazer has left, Pepper points out that Frazer wasn’t a great catch anyway. She also expresses worries that she may not find someone else to start a relationship with.
