Lyn finds herself in a bind as she looses her wedding ring for the second time, having first lost it whilst cooking a meal for Paul, who found it buried in the middle of his dinner. The following day she inadvertently throws it into the lake at Lassiters whilst out with Steph, Oscar and Charlie. She realises her mistake once they have returned to Ramsay Street and rushes back to try and look for it. A bemused Paul manages to get the truth from Steph and heads to the lake to join Lyn. He deepens her despair when he points out that the ring cost $200,000. He attempts to get help for the search in the form of several willing volunteers who he equips with wetsuits and offers $5000 to whoever finds the ring. Lyn quickly changes the plan as she whispers that a full search of the lake is a bad idea as that is where she hid the gun he was planning to shoot Max with. In the end it is Paul who wades into the lake in a pair of waterproof trousers and gloves and he eventually manages to locate the ring which he puts back on Lyn’s finger.

Susan and Karl fall out over Katya as the extent of her recent crimes are revealed. Karl is unhappy that Susan withheld information about Katya from him, an act which he feels put the others in number 28 at risk. Susan still refuses to tells him the full extent of Katya’s past and she is adamant that KAtya would never harm her friends or family.

Janelle’s plans for riches take are set back as Karl and Susan counter sue her for slander after Janelle continues to tell the world how she was wronged by Karl. Janelle’s actions are seeing many of Karl’s patients choosing to switch GP’s. As Susan overhears one of Janelle’s rants about Karl’s ineptness when it comes to medicine in the General Store she takes action. Janelle has a showdown with Susan in Ramsay Street as she gets the legal notification of the counter action. Susan cuts off Janelle’s tirade and points out the support she and her family have given the Timmins during the time they have both been in Erinsborough.

Toadie and Steph continue in their awkwardness around each other. Steph finds herself at fault as she assumes he has made excuses to appear at the hospital whilst she is there for her check up. Toadie has an emergency appointment booked by Karl earlier on in the day due to concern other a growth on Toadie’s shoulder with the implication that it may be cancerous. As she realises the full implications of the hospital visit Steph tracks down Toadie later and tells him that she will help him through this difficult time.
