The Christmas celebrations in Ramsay Street spill over into Boxing Day and Toadie seeks refuge at number 32 after being covered in paint by Stingray. Steph invites him to use the shower there as another guest arrives. Steph is a lot colder towards Katya however she is forced to spend time with her as Toadie pushes them together.

Will and Carmella enjoy spending time together after patching up their differences at Lyn and Paul’s wedding reception. Carmella makes a decision and invites Will into her bedroom as they kiss in the kitchen of number 24. Will points out that Carmella will not be able to return to the convent if they continue but, after a second of hesitation, she waves this away.

Rosetta finds comfort in Frazer as he continues to offer he support as a good friend. As they kiss on the sofa, she puts herself on the line dressing up in the lingerie she bought whilst out with Pepper in an attempt to finally start a relationship. Frazer seems unsure of her intentions at first and stuns her by disappearing as they eventually dispel the confusion and kiss again. After several moments Frazer pulls out of the embrace and tells her he has an important meeting he has to attend and dashes out of the room.

Paul manages to buy some confidential information from policeman Alec Skinner. Whilst at first the details of the document are clear Paul quickly uses it inviting Will to join him at the Scarlet Bar. Once there Paul reveals that he knows that Will Griggs was born Sebastian Barnes and a son of two wealthy parents. As his parents have died Will is the sole owner of their business portfolio, a part of which is the important 2% stake in the Lassiter cooperation. Will debunks Paul’s fears that he has kept his true identity a secret so he can check out the Lassiter business before launching a hostile takeover to gain a majority stake. Instead Will explains that he wanted to see how people treated him without his wealth and power a test which he feels has proven a good move as he has found Carmella. Paul cautions him that he has already lost Carmella by lying to her, however Will is adamant that he can make things work between them. Paul offers Will a deal which is readily accepted, Paul wont tell anyone about Will’s secret if Will backs all of Paul’s motions at Lassiter board meetings.

A hostage situation develops quickly at number 32. Steph and Katya are in the living room as Guy enters. He quietens and indignant Steph by showing them both a gun he has concealed inside his jacket. Zeke finds himself caught up in the drama as he attempts to track Katya down as she is delaying the trip to Shepparton. Toadie is the final person to be seized by Guy. He arrives from the shower where he had been washing off the paint and attempts to jump Guy when he realises the danger. Guy spins to confront Toadie at the last minute and manages to push him to the ground roughly. Once things have settled Guy begins to demand to know where Katya has hidden his $100,000. Katya tells him she doesn’t have the money but this only angers Guy further and he begins to threaten to shoot those gathered. Eventually Katya relents and tells him that it is buried at the allotment plot nearby. A degree on confusion begins as they struggle on the best way to retrieve the money. As an opportunity arises, Zeke attempts to overpower Guy himself. Guy manages to throw Zeke away easily however Toadie is close behind and knocks guy down. As Guy lies stunned on the floor Toadie quickly gets the others to run from the house. Outside they find Karl coming up the path with a phone in hand which he has already used to try to get through to the police to alert them of Katya’s disappearance. Inside the house Toadie looks around frantically for the gun which was knocked from Guy’s hand in the struggle. He eventually gives up and runs from the house as Karl beings to head inside to look for him. Karl stops as Toadie emerges and moves down the driveway of the house. As he does so a shot comes from behind and hits him squarely. Toadie makes a few more faltering steps before falling into the arms of Karl who rushed towards him as he heard the gunfire. Steph and Katya follow close behind and the huddle around Toadie where he has collapsed.
