Steph decides to move on from Max as her feelings of concern for Toadie reveal her desire for a relationship with him. Susan cautions Steph about moving past the close friendship Steph has shared with Toadie over the last few years however Steph is certain she is making the right choice.

Boyd and Janae struggle to maintain their relationship as the card Glenn sent Boyd from Christmas is found whilst they are tidying up number 32. Janae is upset by the discovery as Boyd had assured her that he had put Glenn behind him. In his attempts to explain himself Boyd also lets slip that he has spoken to Glenn on the phone. Janae retreats from their conflict but gets support from Bree once she returns to number 26. Bree encourages Janae to fight for Boyd and points out that running never solved Kim’s problems with Janelle.

Katya becomes more agitated after Steph’s angry words that she should leave Ramsay Street for good. She finds herself seriously considering doing just that, however Karl and Susan assure her that they will stand by and support her through her difficulties. Karl also apologises to Katya for doubting her as news of her past originally broke.

Harold spends time with baby Kerry as Sky goes for a job interview. He takes pleasure in looking after the child and sits with her in number 24 telling her how happy he is. He gets a surprise when Bree’s kitten Willow wanders through the front door after hiding and hissing at Bree. Willow begins lapping at the milk in his breakfast bowl. His fears of his animal fur allergy are dispelled and he declares that his allergy medice appears to be working. Noting that Willow doesn’t have a tag, Harold sets about taking pictures of the cat for ‘missing pet found’ flyers to post around the local area. He seems keen to keep Willow for himself though and Bree seizes upon this when she arrives hinting that she may let Willow stay in number 24 pointing out that it would be in Willow’s best interests.

Zeke catches Katya as she reconsiders leaving Erinsborough and packs quietly during the night time. He is adamant that she should stay and Katya promises him that she will at least sleep on her decision. The next morning Zeke takes her breakfast in bed only to find her gone. Karl stops Susan from calling the police as they would class Katya’s disappearance as skipping bail.

Boyd overhears Steph talking about her feeling for Toadie. He seems hurt at first but admits that Steph needs to move on now that Max has gone. Whilst alone with Janae he voices concern that Steph may be moving too quickly.

Elle returns to Erinsborough after she abandoned Ramsay Street for Tasmania as Paul broke of his marriage to Lyn. She talks to Gail on her mobile just before climbing into a car which will take her home. As she is about to climb in she spots Max across the car park. He is loading groceries into a silver car and is unaware of her staring at him.
