Rosetta recovers from her initial shock over Pepper’s revelation that she has been sleeping with Paul Robinson. Rosie quickly takes Pepper’s side as her friend explains that she’s not proud of the fling with Paul nor did she mean for it to happen. Rosetta encourages Pepper to end things with Paul and Pepper ignores his request to call at number 22 for dinner. The following morning Pepper heads calls on Paul to tell him about her decision to end things. He takes control of the conversation before Pepper can get her message out and she almost follows him upstairs as he encourages her to join him in his bedroom. Pepper flees from the scene and Paul is surprised to find Rosie sitting at the kitchen counter as he wanders down in his robe to find out where Pepper has gotten too. Rosie leads Paul on a little taking pleasure in his crushed look as she deftly informs him that neither she nor Pepper will have anything to do with him from now on. Once Paul has been dismissed, Rosie attempts to build up Pepper’s confidence again. She rattles off Pepper’s attractive qualities and tells confides that if she were a man she would be happy to be dating Pepper. At this both seem to pause and Pepper leans over and kisses Rosetta.
Ramsay Street pulls together as Kerry Mangel undergoes further tests to see whether she has leukaemia as feared by her doctor. Karl and Susan join Janelle, Dylan, Stingray, Sky and Steiger at the hospital as the tests are carried out. Sky and Dylan stay with Kerry in the hospital room whilst the bone marrow biopsy is undertake despite indications from the staff that it may be too traumatic for those close to Kerry to see. All three manage to get through the tests, however Dylan is visibly shaken. Sky’s support sees him stay at Kerry’s side whilst the tests are completed. The results are quickly delivered and they head into the hospital corridor to announce that Kerry has acute lymphocytice leukaemia. Sky explains that treatment for Kerry will begin with chemotherapy and then a bone marrow transplant. Karl explains that for the transplant a suitable donor needs to be found. Dylan quickly adds that he will offer his and his words are back up by those gathered offering to donate marrow if needed. Sky has a flashback to her vision of her mother’s gravestone with “Timmins” as the name on the plaque as Dylan states that he will attempt to donate bone marrow for Kerry’s transplant.
Elle finds herself struggling with her Paul inspired evil streak as news of Kerry’s condition spreads. Before hearing the news Elle gleefully watches with Paul as their plan to force the Timmins out of Lassiters unfolds. Their doctored financial report, stating that Lassiters is losing money, arrives and they set up a board meeting to share the news which is designed to put pressure on the Timmins for whom Lassiters is a sole revenue stream. Their happiness is hindered slightly by a visit from Steiger who calmly points out that the trail from the Timmins burglary leads to the Robinsons. Paul laughs him off though his calmness isn’t shared by Elle. Elle gets further worries as she clashes with Janelle who she bumps into in the General Store. Janelle is with Bree and Zeke who are picking out items to take to the hospital for Sky and Dylan. Elle attempts to brush aside Janelle’s warning that she should be left alone and Elle is brought crashing down as she realises that Kerry is ill and the condition is serious. Paul doesn’t share her concern for the Timmins’s though and goes ahead with the meeting which is attended by him, Elle and Stingray. Paul quickly informs Stingray that Lassiters is in trouble and, in an effort to turn things around, he will be freezing various financial channels the Timmins’s have bee utilising for money. Stingray jumps to the heart of the matter quickly accusing Paul of foul play and pointing out that it is a low act for Paul to setup. As he leaves he tells Elle that he would have hoped for better from her. As she begins to form a comment to Stingray who has already left, Paul tells her to grow up and begin acting like a Robinson.
