Karl begins a job hunt as he and Susan take a hard look at their financial situation as their trip to London is put off. They settle down as Rachel brings up the topic of money as she and Bree attempt to get out of trouble for their back garden party as they thought Susan and Karl were headed for London. Karl’s recent renovations to increase the self sustenance of number 28 have added to the lack of money as their return of investment is high. Susan suggests she boost her earnings by applying for the job of principle of Erinsborough High. Karl is reluctant to agree to this as he reminds her that she had avoided the position over recent years as her interest was teaching in the classroom. As a solution Karl encourages Rosetta to take him on as a secretary at the Law offices in the Lassiter complex. Rosie is hesitant about hiring him as he doesn’t have the required skills to do the job. Karl pleads with her to give him a chance and his efforts pay off as Rosetta agrees to give him a trial run. Susan is sceptical of Karl’s enthusiasm at the new job however he insists that he will enjoy it.

Ringo encourages Lolly to confront her fear of Sandy as her step mother arrives in Erinsborough to keep and eye on Lolly whilst Lou is working. Sandy is gentle around Lolly whenever there are others present but her act is dropped quickly whilst they are alone. Lolly takes Ringo’s advice to an extreme as Sandy tells Harold that she needs to take her hire car to a garage to get it checked. Lolly uses the Bishop computer to research car brakes and then heads to the garage to sabotage the brakes on Sandy’s car. Whilst sitting with Ringo outside number 24 Lolly tells him what she has done. Ringo is alarmed and encourages her to tell Sandy what she has done pointing out that others will be at risk if Sandy looses control of the car whilst driving. Their discussion is ended as Sandy pulls up unharmed in her hire car. Ringo suggests that Lolly sees this good fortune as a sign and finally confront her step mother. He offers to accompany Lolly as she heads into the back garden of number 24 to tell her mother that she has had enough. Lolly is keen to stand up to Sandy alone and Ringo waits inside the house in case Lolly needs him. Sandy listens as Lolly tells her that she has told Ringo about the abuse and that she will tell Harold and the rest of Ramsay Street. As Lolly moves closer, Sandy snaps and takes a swing at her. She misses and ends up falling face first into the pool where she floats unmoving as Lolly stares on in shock.

Frazer grows increasingly distraught as he spies Rosetta and Pepper interacting closely by the pool in number 30. Ringo jokes at his brother’s unhappiness however he quickly changes tack as Frazer continues to mope. Ringo invites Frazer out for the day and the pair head to a football game. Things go awry as the stop by the Scarlet Bar after the game and Frazer finds himself squaring up to a rowdy Collingwood supporter. They come to blows and Ringo finds himself tending to Frazer’s bruises back at number 30. Rosetta disturbs them and takes over the job of cleaning Frazer up. Frazer continues to treat her coolly dropping hints at his displeasure at having been replaced by Pepper. Rosie remains unaware that he knows about her kiss with Pepper and whilst they sit they both find themselves leaning in to kiss each other. Their moment is shattered by Pepper and a flustered Rosie quickly leaves the house. Pepper is happy as she realise that things may be back on track between Rosie and Frazer. Frazer comments that he didn’t mean to rain on her parade and shocks Pepper by revealing that he, Ringo and most of Ramsay Street know about her kiss with Rosie. Pepper assures Frazer that there is nothing between her and Rosie, a fact which brings a spark back into Frazer’s eyes. Pepper relays the news to Rosie that their kiss is public knowledge as she visits her at work. She encourages Rosie to talk things out with Frazer and rubbishes Rosetta’s comments that the kiss between her and Rosie may have meant more than the decided.
