Lolly hovers by the edge of the pool plagued by indecision. Sandy continues to float face down as Lolly looks on. Ringo and Rachel appear from the back door of number 24 and rush to Sandy’s aid. Rachel jumps into the pool as Ringo waits by the side to help pull Sandy out. They both shout at Lolly to find out how long Sandy has been in the pool. Their voices shake Lolly out of her shock and she drops to the side of her step mother to give CPR. Rachel and Ringo panic as they cannot find a phone to call an ambulance. Their problem is solved by Lou who arrives back from work and attempts to find them by stepping out of the backdoor. He calls and ambulance as Sandy splutters back to life thanks to Lolly’s first aid. Sandy resists being taken to hospital at first but reluctantly agrees as both the paramedics and Lou encourage her to get checked out. She pre empts Lolly by informing those gathered that it was Lolly who pushed her in, an act Sandy considers as an attempt to kill her. Lou is sceptical of this despite Sandy telling him that Lolly has a history of similar behaviour. Once Sandy has gone, Lou settles with Lolly who finally tells Lou that he step mother has abused her over the years. Lolly tells Lou everything so when a composed Sandy returns she finds a packed bag waiting for her by the door. As Lou informs her that Lolly has told him about the abuse, Sandy attempts to paint Lolly as the troubled one. Lou doesn’t react and Sandy’s attempts to spin things further reveal her lies. Lolly explains that she has shown Lou her diary that details Sandy’s attacks on her. Sandy snaps and attempts to snatch the book from Lolly but Lou steps in to prevent her. With the truth finally out Sandy admits that she felt detached from Lolly as she is a product of her husband’s affair and she always saw the face of his mistress when looking at Lolly. As she breaks down Lou informs her that he has contacted Jon Allen and child welfare and orders Sandy out of the house.

Elle continues to stir things as Boyd and Janae’s relationship continues to spiral out of control. Boyd seems unable to keep his distance from Glenn and he finds himself accepting a lift from her after Elle encouraged her friend to seize on the spark that has formed between the pair. Boyd takes over the wheel of the hire car, which had just finished being serviced by Janae, as Glenn is unsure about how to find her way around Erinsborough. The brakes in the car fail as Boyd approaches a stop sign moments after setting off. Quick thinking sees him drive onto the grass beside the road and use the handbrake to stop but both he and Glenn get through around before the car comes to a halt. Glenn looses conciousness but she slowly stirs as Boyd calls for an ambulance. At the hospital the pair are joined by both Elle and Janae, who had been waiting for Glenn and Boyd seperatly at the Scarlet bar. Janae pulls Boyd outside and demands to know why he was in the car with Glenn. Boyd brushes her question aside and asks one of his own, explaining that the police think that the brakes were tampered with. It takes a few moments for Janae to catch his meaning and when she does she expresses hurt that he believes she could do such a thing.

Ringo and Rachel move a few steps closer to a relationship as they head back to number 28 after pulling Sandy from the pool in number 24’s back garden. Rachel talks rapidly as she replays the event and the part that they all played in saving Sandy’s life. Ringo is withdrawn as Rachel talks and he runs as Rachel leans in to kiss him as the talk turns to them. He finds himself alone back home and he begins to cry whilst sitting on the sofa in the living room. A while later and Rachel stops by to try and talk things through with him. She explains about Zeke’s difficulty to deal with the death of their father however Ringo assures her that he isn’t in shock. As Rachel produces his phone, which he lost in the pool, Ringo lets his guard down and turns to talk to her but only sees her back as she spins to leave him in peace.
