Karl and Susan arrive in London making use of Karl’s Christmas present of two tickets to get to the UK. Karl gets a surprise as he spies footballer Pete Gartside once they arrive in the city centre. The young star is less than keen to speak to Karl, whom he fears is a journalist attempting to dig dirt on the rumours about an affair he is having. Karl persists in talking to the footballer telling him that he is simply a fan. Pete’s coldness towards Karl lessens as Karl continues to talk and he agrees to sign an autograph for the star struck Australian. Susan appears as Peter’s car speeds away and she and Karl sightsee around the city for the rest of the day. Whilst on top of one of the opened top attraction double-decker buses Karl begins to propose to Susan. The pair are snuggled on the long seat at the back of the bus and Karl stands up drawing the ring box out of his pocket. Susan isn’t paying attention to his action and doesn’t notice as the box goes flying out of Karl’s hand as the bus suddenly jolts. The loss of the ring takes a few moments to register with Karl and then he rushes to the front bus and down the stairs of the still moving to try and retrieve it. A while later and he is approached by Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls. She hands him the ring box back and the pair chat for a few moments. Karl is unaware of Emma’s celebrity status but Susan is stunned when she rushes up behind him querying as to why he left her on the bus. A shocked Susan believes Karl has organised the meeting and she encourages him to get an autograph as she gushes over the Spice Girl. As the day of sightseeing continues Susan is keen to return to the hotel which she understands will be one of London’s best. Karl attempts to stall things as he realises there is a slight problem with accommodation. He eventually leads Susan down a narrow alley and presents the Ritz backpackers hostel. Susan is less than impressed with the travellers accommodation Karl has arranged despite Karl’s explanation that he saw the name and price and assumed it was the expensive Ritz hotel he was booking. The unimpressive shared room Karl leads them too dampens Susan’s spirits however she choose to look at the positives, that they are together and in London and agrees that they should make the most of things.

In Australia Elle spends the day horse riding with Oliver in the Australian outback. Oliver remains oblivious to Elle’s scheming and is drawn in as she uses tears and emotions to break his guard down and encourage Oliver to draw close to her. Elle purposefully dumps Ollie’s mobile phone in the river they stop by as Carmella attempts to contact them. As a water fight breaks out between them, Elle uses the heightened spirits to make herself available. Her plan pays off as they draw close to each other and move to kiss. Oliver pulls back at the last minute apologising for his actions despite Elle waving them away insisting that nothing happened. With her efforts to pull Oliver to her side failing, Elle pulls another stunt to force the issue. She spurs her horse ahead of Oliver as they travel back to the cabin. She then dismounts and sets her horse free, crumpling on the floor and letting out a scream to give them impression that she has been thrown. Oliver rushes to her side and carries her back to the cabin. As they get back Elle treads gingerly on her foot before telling Oliver that her earlier tears were due to her feelings for Oliver rather than distress over the end of her relationship with Dylan. Elle’s efforts pay off as Oliver stares into her eyes for several long moments and then bends forward and kisses her lightly on the lips.

Toadie abandons Abby to go rushing after Steph. He doesn’t reach her in time and returns to the Scarlet Bar for Abby much to her frustration. She tells him that she is well aware of where he went and doesn’t wish to be his consolation prize. Toadie tries to assure her that she isn’t however doubt plagues them both. Toadie returns later only to find Abby with a client. He settles down near to them and seems unable to stop his gaze from lingering on them. Eventually he pulls out the picture of himself, Abby and Zoe drawn for him by Zoe. He comes to a decision and approaches Abby’s table. He tells her companion to leave forcefully. Abby isn’t impressed by his actions but listens as he encourages her to work for him as a legal secretary. Abby is sceptical of the proposition however Toadie tells her that it will give Zoe security and allow them to focus on their relationship.

Pepper continues to fantasise about her mysterious admirer who she has concluded is Red Fisher. She bubbles as she finds a collection of red balloons waiting for her at number 30. Rosetta is less impressed and attempts to distract her by inviting her on a road trip to try and track Oliver down. The trip is organised by Rosie to help Carmella out as the pair resume their sibling relationship after the falling out over the family business. Whilst stopping on the roadside as Pepper takes a toilet break, Rosetta buries the hatchet and offers to help Carmella with the family business encouraging her sister to leave Ray to the police.
