Grief sweeps through Ramsay Street as news of Stingray’s death spreads through the street. Stingray’s family and friends deal with their loss in different ways. Rachel attempts to put on a brave face as Ringo tries to get her to talk to him about her feelings. She keeps them buried, instead insisting that she is fine. Ringo distracts her by inviting her to give him a swimming lesson as they find themselves in the pool in the back garden of number 30. Rachel is caught up in the task for several moments but her mind wanders as she instructs him to hold onto the edge of the pool and kick his legs. Ringo continues to talk stopping as Rachel begins to sob. A while later and they are back inside number 30. Rachel tells Ringo that she needs time to deal with Stingray’s death and suggest they spend time apart whilst she does. Ringo tells Rachel that he will do whatever he can to help her get through this, even if it means putting their relationship on hold for a while. Sky rushes back to Erinsborough hospital to find Kerry. She bursts into her daughter’s hospital room and lifts Kerry from her cot. She holds tight as tears stream down her face. Harold is startled by the intrusion and comforts Sky as he realises something is very wrong. Janae settles by the Lassiter Lake as she attempts to sort through her emotions. After sometime alone, she is joined by Boyd who feels her should help her through the difficult time as it is natural to him having been so close to Janae during their marriage. His attempts to build bridges with Janae are quickly halted as she treats him with polite indifference and heads back home rather than falling on Boyd for support. Janelle refuses to believe that Stingray is dead and berates the rest of the family for meekly accepting fate. The others try to gently suggest the reality of the situation however Janelle heads to the hospital to try and rouse Stingray. Once at the hospital she explains her behaviour pointing out that Dylan returned from the dead so it is possible that Stingray could do the same. The truth catches up with her as she views Stingray’s body and Janelle is left to stagger through the hospital corridor and settle quietly on one of the chairs outside Kerry’s room to reflect on the enormity of the situation. Dylan is frustrated as he feels Stingray’s death should have been prevented by the medical staff. He heads to the hospital to demand answers. He stops momentarily to see Kerry and Sky and Harold quickly catch his anger and that the hospital staff are in the firing line. Harold physically blocks Dylan from leaving the room and pushes him to the ground as Dylan continues to try and barge his way through. Once on the floor Dylan cracks and Sky holds him close to her.
Bree finds Stingray’s video camera whilst she sits in number 26 with Zeke. Zeke suggests that she see what’s on the tape. At Bree’s reluctance he suggests that it might contain something “Stingray like” to cheer up those reeling from his death. Janae returns home and adds her voice to Zekes and the Timmins’s, Sky, Harold, Lou, Lolly and Toadie gather in the living of number 26 to watch the tape. It turns out to be a video diary Stingray was working on for Kerry. In it he explains the dynamics of his family and Sky to provide a snapshot of their lives. Those gathered watch tearfully as Stingray explains that positive characteristics of those close to him such as Bree being intelligent and trustworthy and Janae being loyal.
Dylan finds a target for his anger in Paul, who offers a check to the Timmin’s to cover any expenses given that their finances are limited with the problems at Lassiter’s. Dylan treats Paul coldly at first but then tracks Paul down to the Scarlet Bar to apologise. Paul relaxes with Dylan’s words and agrees to help with the funeral arrangements as Dylan mentions that he could do with a hand organising them. The bond between them is quickly shattered as Paul finds himself bound and gaged inside Dylan’s car. Paul’s muffled cries are ignored by Dylan who talks to Paul enthusiastically before speeding away from Lassiters with Paul still struggling in the passenger seat of the car.
