Paul begins to worry as Ned suggests that Elle may be pulling away from him. Ned brings up the topic as he continues to poke at the increasing isolation of Paul due to his constant scheming and plotting. Paul tries to brush of Ned’s words however they appear to contain a deal of truth as Elle hesitates as she emulates her father’s ruthless behaviour. An offer of understanding from Carmella, who apologises for the cake incident, sees Elle waver even further however the presence of Paul enables her to callously laugh her friend off revelling in the underhand way in which she stole Oliver from her. This aggressive eases Paul’s fears however a visit to Ned’s apartment later shows that Elle is still keen to escape from the path her father is choosing for her. Ned is packing to leave and shows Elle that he has two tickets to Oakey and encourages Elle to join him and escape Paul for good.

Frazer regains consciousness to find himself sprawled on the racetrack with Rosetta bent over him. She holds him close and encourages him to save his strength until the ambulance gets to them. Frazer tells her that he can’t feel his legs as the ambulance sirens draw closer. He is rushed to Erinsborough hospital where he puts a brave face on for Ringo who is called by Rosetta as soon as Frazer is settled. Lolly accompanies Ringo and quickly realises that things are more serious than Frazer and Rosie are letting on. She follows Rosetta out into the hospital corridor and asks what is really wrong with Frazer. Rosetta explains that initial test suggest that Frazer has suffered a spinal injury that is effecting the mobility of his legs. This news finds its way back to Ringo as Lolly quietly tells him as he continues to express his excitement that everything will be fine. Things grow frosty as Johnny arrives at the hospital. Ringo isn’t happy to see his brother and is frustrated with Rosetta for calling him. Johnny is allowed a few minutes with Frazer however the two brothers are fairly hostile whilst they are alone during this time. Frazer encourages his brother to leave telling him that he wants nothing to do with his family anymore.

Susan steps in to help Izzy and her faltering relationship with Pete. Karl is less that impressed with the surge of compassion for Izzy that Susan is displaying. Izzy seems content with the help she is receiving and Susan offers to ring Pete to try and arrange a meeting in which Susan could argue Izzy’s case. Karl remains keen to have as little to do with Isabelle as possible, again pointing out his vow to never be sucked in by her again. Susan’s efforts are successful and she meets with Pete at a local park. Izzy and Karl watch them from a distance as Susan suggests that Pete follow his heart rather than the fear of negative publicity. Susan’s words strike a chord with Pete and he agrees to resume his relationship with Izzy, who rushes over with Karl once Pete has uttered this admission. Karl and Susan head back to the Ritz Hostel and settle in for the night. Karl tells Susan that he has something special planned for the day but dodges he queries about what it is as he wants to keep the remarriage ceremony he has planned a surprise. A while later and Pete realises that Karl is the Karl who is the father of Izzy’s child. He encourages Izzy to track down Karl and tell him the truth, pointing out that he would want to know such a thing if it were him.
