Janae’s resolve wavers as Boyd edges back into her life. Free of Glenn, Boyd continues to offer his support as Janae struggles to process the death of Stingray. Whilst Janae is fairly cold towards Boyd to begin with his kindness sees her warm to his suggestion that things could return to the way that they were between them. Bree is less than impressed when Janae tells her family about Boyd’s efforts and encourages her sister to ignore Boyd’s attempts at reconciliation. Steiger echoes Bree’s hostility demanding that Janae treats herself with respect rather than waving away Boyd’s cheating with Glenn.

Karl and Susan arrive home from London to an empty number 28. Rachel and Zeke are at number 26 helping out in the press wake cleanup. Janelle is the first to see Karl and Susan though she doesn’t pass on the news of Stingray’s death, leaving this too Rachel and Zeke who return home a while later. Susan takes the news of Stingray’s death the hardest and empathises with Zeke and Rachel for having to deal with things alone whilst they were holidaying in England. Rachel passes on the news that there will be an ashes scattering ceremony which they can attend to say goodbye and that Stingray was really happy at the news that Karl and Susan were remarrying. Susan finds herself supporting Janelle later as the pair spend time chatting in the Scarlet Bar. In return Janelle encourages Susan to tell Karl about overhearing Pete’s conversation with Izzy whilst in London. The next day Susan asks for a word with Karl as he, Rachel and Zeke decide that they should use the “Kennedy-Kinski” as a last name now that Karl and Susan are officially married again. Susan explains to a shocked Karl that he is baby Holly Hoyland’s father.

Elle implements her plan to run away with Ned after Ned’s persistence in encouraging her to escape the clutches of her father and his schemes. The pair work hard to keep Paul unaware of their plan however he picks up on Elle’s differing behaviour as the departure day approaches. He confronts his daughter on the morning with her passport in his hand and her suitcases at his feet. Elle resists his pleading for her to remain with him and pair struggle physically for several moments as she attempts to retrieve her passport from his clutches. Elle stays true to her words and Paul is forced to stumble down the driveway after her as she meets Ned waiting in a car outside number 22. Paul tries frantically to prevent Elle from getting into the car with Ned but his begging fails and Ned pulls away leaving Paul staring after them in horror. A few blocks later and Elle jumps out of the car and runs a short distance. Ned approaches her and she informs him that she can’t leave Paul. Ned tells her that if she returns to Ramsay Street, Paul will suck her into his twisted schemes again.

Steiger and Janelle clash as she discovers that Dylan has left Ramsay Street whilst he gets himself sorted out. Janelle believes that Steiger shouldn’t have interfered with her family, especially in such a dramatic way and demands that he leave number 26. After her talk with Susan her frustrations with Steiger’s actions lessen and the next morning she apologises for Steiger and asks him to move back in with her. She states that she still doesn’t agree with his decision but knows that he acted in the best interests of her family.
