Frazer receives bad news as the doctors at Erinsborough Hospital get results from tests carried out after his accident at the race track. He is visited by Rosetta, Pepper and Oliver several times during the days until the tests are completed and their friendship cheers him. Things take a turn for the worse as Milly informs him that she isn’t interest in staying in a relationship now that he has been injured. Rosetta remains at Frazer’s side however he lashes out at her after receiving the results. Her boundless optimism and excitement in informing him of a legal case she is putting together against the race track for not having provisions to stop children from gaining access to the track sees Frazer snap. He tells Rosetta that he thinks she is only interested in his welfare out of pity. Asking her to leave and never return, Frazer explains that the doctors have suggested that he may never walk again.

Paul’s schemes to bend his daughter to his will are exposed as Ned explains the tasks Paul set him to help split Elle and Dylan up. Elle is sceptical at first but Ned explains that he plied both Carmella and Dylan with alcohol and then physically moved Dylan into Carmella’s bed to create the illusion. Elle’s shock turns to fury as she realises the depth of Paul’s deception. She chooses to return to Ramsay Street to get revenge on her father rather than fleeing from him with Ned. Ned gives Elle valuable ammo in the form of the USB flash drive that he copied various private files from Paul’s laptop a while back. Elle returns to number 22, apologising to Paul for considering running away and explaining that she did so due to fear of disappointing him if their plans for Oliver, which requires her to seduce him into a relationship so she can access his family fortune, failed. Paul accepts this and Elle wastes little time in putting her new plans in motion. As Oliver seeks clarity over their relationship Elle drops all pretence and begins to tell him of the scheme. They are interrupted by Paul and Elle tells Oliver to meet her later so she can tell him everything.

Karl remains shocked by the news that baby Holly Hoyland is his. He tells Susan that he will ring Izzy in an attempt to sort things out. Susan remains reluctant to force a debate on the issue but the thought of having Isabelle Hoyland involved in their lives once more appears to worry them both. The phone call goes smoothly and Karl explains to Susan that Izzy suggest that Holly is raised by Izzy and Pete until she is old enough to be told about Karl. Once told she will be given the option of contacting her real father if she chooses. Susan agrees that this may be the best solution though Karl seems a little hesitant to embrace the plan.

Pepper restarts her relationship with Paul after deciding that the collection of lavish gifts being left for her are from Paul. Whilst Paul remains reasonably flippant about their relationship he says the things Pepper wants to hear and does enough to allow for her to continue in her romantic notions about their pairing. The pair have lunch at the Scarlet Bar. Paul offers her several paintings from Lassiter’s collection which they were planning to dump and proves. He encourages Pepper to reconsider going back to teaching telling her that she spent a lot of lunch talking about her former pupils and that he believes she makes an excellent teacher.
