The new local doctor begins working in Karl’s old office in the Lassiter complex now that renovations of the space are completed. Whilst she dives into her work with confidence her appearance is a little strange as she hangs up a certificate of medicine and a few office items which she appears to have taken from a hospital. The doctor presents herself as Charlotte Stone, a name which is displayed clearly on her doctorate. Despite this unknown secret, Charlotte is accepted as a doctor by the Erinsborough community. Boyd applies for a job as a secretary and Carmella books an appointment to discuss her recent insomnia. Boyd notes that Charlotte appears to be young for a doctor, however this comment is lost as he attempts to present himself as a viable candidate for the secretary job. Charlotte tells Boyd that she has several other candidates for the position but she tracks him down to the Scarlet Bar and tells him that he can have the job if he can suggest a medical treatment for sleeping problems. Boyd is unaware of the fact that Charlotte appears to be getting him to give her a diagnosis for Carmella. He writes down a list of treatments which Charlotte then uses the following day as Carmella returns to tell Charlotte that he initial recommendation of relaxing before sleep failed to cure her problem.
Susan gets a surprise as she worries about the lack of communication from Karl as he visits Izzy Hoyland in London to discuss care of Holly Hoyland. A knock at the door disturbs her as she receives a call from Karl who tells her that he doesn’t want to talk about Holly. Susan brushes Karl off as her frustration at his behaviour grows and she pulls open the front door of number 28 letting out a gasp as Tom Scully stand before her. Tom is invited in and he begins to explain that he has now gotten his life in order and wants to resume his relationship with Susan. Susan tries to be gentle as she points out that, though things may not have change relationship wise for Tom, they have for her. Susan proves this by telling him that during the few years since they were involved she has been married and widowed, taken on two foster children and has remarried Karl. Her words shock Tom and he grows cross at Susan’s mention of Karl. He points out that Karl has treated her fairly badly and that she can’t really believe that he will not cheat on her again. Susan cuts into Tom’s rant and she asks him to leave when it becomes clear that his opion of Karl will not be changed. Tom finds Susan in the Scarlet Bar the following day and attempts to strike up a conversation. Susan tells him that they have nothing to say to each other and it is best if the avoid each other from now on. Tom is forced to admit that he has accepted the job of principle of Erinsborough High, making it hard for them to keep their distance.
Elle continues to struggle between her habitual Robinson mean streak and attempting to distance herself from her father’s schemes. Her latest crisis begins as she tries to fool her father into thinking she still has Oliver hooked despite having clued Oliver in to the Paul inspired plot to seduce Oliver and get access to his family fortune. This causes problems for Elle as she develops genuine feelings for Oliver which he fails to notice as he resumes his relationship with Carmella. Carmella meanwhile admits to Charlotte that she is still deeply in love with Oliver and so a relationship between the pair is only held back by the awkwardness of recent events a fact which Elle picks up on.
Janae resists Boyd’s attempts to continue their marriage with the departure of Glenn and his realisation that he has strong feelings for Janae. As they bump into each other Boyd makes his case repeatedly but Janae remains focused on the fact that Boyd cheated on her. She finds herself plagued by flashes as Boyd interacts with other girls. The flashes show Boyd attempting to chat up the women he is with which Susan puts down to Janae’s common sense suggesting caution.
