Episode 5222

Paul is unable to accept that Fox is a figment of his imagination and accuses Elle of employing him to help take him down. Still unaware that he has a brain tumour, Elle is terrified that her plot to ruin him might have caused a complete mental breakdown. She battles to get him to the hospital and is heartbroken when he apparently orders her to leave. She has no idea that Paul is not talking to his daughter but to the menacing presence of imaginary Fox. With his conditioning deteriorating by the minute, Paul is prepped for surgery and is chilled by a final visit from Fox, who swears that he will make sure Paul never wakes up...

Janae's thrilled when she's offered a contract by boxing promoter. Ned wisely believes that the promoter's interest in Janae has more to do with her looks than her skill and tries to convince her she's not ready for the professional circuit. To prove his point he challenges her to an endurance test which she fails. Unwilling to admit Ned was right, Janae angrily orders him out of the garage and quietly nurses her sore knuckles alone.

Oliver comes clean to Carmella about his feelings for Elle in the hope that she'll appreciate his honesty. However, he phrases his confession badly and Carmella feels that he's just wimping out of ending their relationship. After some surprisingly sage advice from unlikely agony aunts Ringo and Ned, Oliver and Carmella finally get together to work out their differences. Communicating clearly at last, they make up and are even able to be there as friends for Elle as she waits at the hospital for news of Paul.

Newly sensitive Ringo offers Carmella a surprisingly sturdy shoulder to cry on and scores himself a part time job, making deliveries for Celestial Fruits, as a reward.
