Finally remembering that she didn't deal Terrence the lethal blow, Sky expects to plead not guilty at her committal hearing. However, Toadie suggests that with no new evidence on the horizon, she'd be safer to plead guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter and hope to bargain her way to a reduced sentence. They're both shocked when the prosecutor dismisses this attempt at a deal, leaving her facing up to twenty five years behind bars for pre-meditated murder. Desperate not to be separated from Kerry longer than is absolutely necessary, Sky agrees to plead guilty rather than risk an even greater sentence.
On the run with Charlotte, Boyd attempts to lure his apparent partner-in-crime into confessing to Terrence's murder. He makes up a story about killing a man in Tasmania and admits he feels better for having shared his guilt. Feeling that Boyd now has just as much to lose as she does, Charlotte finally confesses and the whole thing is secretly captured on Boyd's mp3 player. He continues to try and stall their getaway so that the police can catch up but as they close in, Charlotte takes off leaving Boyd no option but to follow. He attempts to stop the car and in the struggle, they crash. Unconscious Boyd is transported to hospital and the police attempt to arrest Charlotte. However, with Boyd in a critical condition Charlotte seizes the opportunity and tells police she was kidnapped by Boyd because she knows his secret: he's a murderer.
Back on Ramsay Street, everyone's talking about Boyd's disappearance. Only Janae and Steph seem to find the idea that Boyd is guilty absurd. When Janae insists that she's over Boyd and done with romance, Ned wisely points out that a heart big enough to forgive her ex is a heart that will definitely fall in love again.
