Episode 5240

Elle invites the Ramsay Street residents to Paul's "Welcome Home" party and begs them to conceal his past, unaware that Gail is finally telling him the truth about his evil ways. Opinion is divided amongst the neighbours on whether or not to accept the invite but a vote decides they will all go. Everyone's shocked when Paul breaks down at the party, publicly apologising for the terrible things he's done over the years. While hopes are raised about the new Paul, Elle's devastated when she overhears him telling Gail that he doesn't love, or even like, his daughter anymore.

Carmella's furious at being stranded but Ringo finally gets her to admit that she's using prescription medication to cover up how unhappy she is. Buoyed with sudden clarity, Carmella returns and ends her tortured romance with Oliver for good. Meanwhile, Ringo's prolonged absence has caused considerable anxiety back home and Rachel reveals her insecurities about the nature of his friendship with Carmella.

Adam is shocked to discover that Pepper had a fling with Paul Robinson and that she let him treat her so badly. Pepper vehemently defends herself, pointing out that she's learned from her mistakes. She also accuses Adam of trying to sabotage their relationship before it's even begun... just like she did. Adam apologises, revealing he simply can't bear the thought of Pepper being hurt. They make up and Adam even makes it through his first meeting with Pepper's over-protective dad Steiger. Could Adam be "The One"?

Susan capitalises on Harold and Lou's groundwork by getting Bree to fake a medical question for Karl. Will she woo her unwitting husband back to medicine by showing what a clever doctor he still is?
