Carmella puts a stop to her near-kiss with Ringo, but Ringo is now convinced that she feels the same way about him. He decides the moral thing to do is to break up with Rachel, unwilling to string her along. Carmella's shocked to discover that he's dumped his girlfriend for her and insists that nothing can happen between them. Undeterred, Ringo is sure that he hasn't imagined their chemistry asks her to meet him back at the spot in the country where they danced. Carmella throws caution to the wind and drives to meet him but at the last minute she realises she can't go through with it, leaving poor Ringo depressed and alone.
Rachel is left in charge of Tom but she soon becomes distracted by her problems with Ringo. In a moment of lucidity, Tom insists that he'll be fine alone for a while and urges her to go and straighten things out with her boyfriend. She leaves him alone, not thinking she'll be gone long. However, the situation soon becomes dangerous when Tom leaves an electric kettle to burn on the stove and runs away from the house. Karl and Susan come home to discover the chaos and Rachel cops Karl's anger and frustration. They eventually find Tom stranded in the middle of a busy road but Karl's fear soon turns to joy when his father finally recognises him. Safe at home, Susan and Karl come to the sad realisation that they can't look after Tom full-time.
Rocco sends a letter to Frazer expressing his disappointment that he neglected to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage. Rosie is sure that her conniving father has an ulterior motive for getting in touch and it seems that she was right when Rocco asks for their help in getting him day release to attend the wedding. Frazer agrees to help but insists that if Rocco ruins Rosie's big day, he'll be cut out of their lives for good.
