A friend told me that you were in the [1988] film A Cry in the Dark with Meryl Streep. What do you remember about it?
Lauren, Taunton
My fondest memory is when I was on set was having breakfast, and the director, Fred Schlepisi, and Meryl both approached me with their arms outstretched for a hug. I was about eight or nine years old at the time. Fred is a big dude and was wearing this huge shirt - I sort of got enveloped into his and Meryl's arms! That was pretty cool.
Do you have a girlfriend
Rebecca, via e-mail
I have many friends who are girls...I'm not going to get away with that, am I? No, I'm single. But if the right girl comes along, I'm ready.
I like the suits that Oliver wears in Neighbours. Do you get to keep them?
Charlotte, Dover
I hope so! There's a three-piece suit that I really want, and there's another one made by Ben Sherman - I like that because of the inside print, which has litle bullet holes. When it's time for me to leave the show later this year, I might get to keep them.
What's your ancestral background?
Leanne, via e-mail
Swedish. I think I might've had a German great-grandmother, but I'm not sure. My surname was Andersen originally, and I've tracked it back as far as I can, but there are too many Andersens, and they all intermingle! My family are based in Sweden - it's just me, my mum and my dad who live in Australia.
Is it true that you're good with a guitar - and if so, are you in a band?
G Walker, Reading
I do play the guitar, yes, but I don't play in a band any more. The one I used to be in split up when I moved to sydney. We were called Dave's Garage, because that's the place where we played - really original!
Were you disappointed when the series Head Start, which you used to star in, was axed Down Under?
Glen, via e-mail
Not really, because it was a 42-week shoot. It was pretty full-on, so I wanted a break. I'm still in touch with people from that show, though. I used to live with one of them and used to date one of them. Blair Venn - who played Oliver's dad, Richard Aaronow, in Neighbours - was in Head Start, too.
Who's your favourite member of the roval family and why?
Sarah, Cardiff
Prince William - because he doesn't appear so stuck up! He actually seems like he's a bit of fun. Is that William, the red-headed dude? Sorry, I mean Harry, not William! See I don't really know that much about them...
Have you ever auditioned for Home and Away? You look like you could play a surfer...
C Tyron, via e-mail
I did audition for Home and Away once, actually, not that long ago. It was to play the school pricipal, but I though, 'Why am I going for this role? No-one would pick me to be a principal!' I don't know if I could play a surfer, though. I've only surfed once and was hungover - I felt terrible!
Of all the shows you've guest starred in, which have you enjoyed the most?
Peter, Exeter
There are so many! I'd probably say McLeod's Daughters, because everyone was just reall, really nice. I played a stalker - he was part of the rodeo crew, and then got infatuated with one of the regular characters, but she didn't want to know.
I noticed you starred in the [2003] movie Swimming Upstream with Jesse Spencer, who played Billy Kennedy in Neighbours. What was that like?
Ian, London
It was great. I went for the audition and got the role, but didn't know who else was in it. Then I got the call saying that Jesse was playing the brother of my character, Harold Fingleton Jnr, and Geoffrey Rush and Judy Davis were starring as my on-screen parents. I was already excited about being in a film, but when I found out who was in it, that made it even better.
You were on crutches on screen a while back. Did you hurt yourself in real life?
Gayle, via e-mail
I dislocated my knee during an unfortunate event. Put it this way... a slippery floor and other alcohol-related circumstances led me to pop my patella out of it's socket - and I was henceforth carried out of the venue because everyone thought I was too drunk to stand! That was about six months ago now. I'm still getting over it. My knee even cracks sometimes.
What's the longest day you've ever had to work on Neighbours?
Prue, via e-email
About 14 hours. Sometimes we have to be in at 6.30am, then if you have a night shoot, you don't finish in the studio till 8.30pm. But generally it's not too bad, and we get loads of breaks throughout the day.
