Stephanie Fails To Impress The UK
2nd July 2007
An ex Neighbours star attempting to break into the music charts is a familiar sight in Australia and the UK. After the success of cast members like Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia and Delta Goodrem many appear to be looking to music as their run in Neighbours draws to a close.
The latest star attempting to make the jump is Stephanie Mcintosh. She was quickly signed up by the Universal
record label in 2006 and release two singles and an album in quick succession in Australia.
Her ride to fame was not quite as smooth as her predecessors. Her inexperience was highlighted as she attempted to sing live at the AFL grand footy final in late 2006. Her tentative performance led to a wave of backlash and the initial platform that had been built began to crumble.
In 2007 a jump was made to the UK. Stephanie did various pieces of promotional work, appearing on television and radio shows to draw attention to her single release.
Despite strong efforts by Stephanie, she failed to make a impact on the UK music charts. Mistake charted outside the top 40 UK singles and is likely to tumble from the charts in the following weeks.
