Shane Conner Wins Trial

Updates from Shane Conner's trial have been splashed across Australian newspapers over the past few weeks, with each article exposing revealing insights into some of the antics of both past and present cast members. The trial was ended last week and the judge retired to consider a verdict and today it was delivered.

The Judge ruled that Shane Conner was unfairly dismissed from Neighbours in 2003 and in such a public manner that it lead to employment problems for the Australian actor. The judge explained that despite the numerous claimed examples of poor behavior by Shane Conner, there was a serious lack of evidence and had perhaps been over exaggerated by the Neighbours production team to be rid of the star.

This ending of the trial, which saw several fellow cast member such as Janet Andrewartha who told the courtroom about Shane taking a lack luster approach to his work, yelling at Marisa Siketa and her fear for Ingo Dammer-Smith when Shane was holding him whilst appearing worse for wear, saw Grundy ordered to pay Shane Conner over $200,000 which covers loss of earnings and his legal costs.

Grundy are considering legal action against the ruling, however the public image of the family oriented show has already suffered and it remains to be seen whether they would have a case given the clear success of Shane.
