New Credits For 2006

Today sees the beginning of the 2006 Neighbours season in Australia. As hinted in this previous Neighbours-Source.co.uk news article this new season has a change in credit sequences with the 2005 style being replaced with a new, fresher style.

The credits feature a similar style of motion captures which see the cast interacting with each other and smiling into the camera. These are full screen though instead of the split and overlapping style of 2005. One of the biggest changes is the background. Surprisingly the Neighbours production team haven't appeared to head fans requests for shots of Ramsay Street in the credits as there have been in previous years. Instead the backgound is drawn in an anamated "cartooney" style. The opening credits have also been updated to include some of the newer permanent cast members such as Pippa Black (Elle Robinson) and Matthew Werkmeister (Zeke Kinski).

The new credits are recieving a mixed reception though, especially the lack of stock shots of Ramsay Street. The possible update to the theme tune has yet to appear.
