Neighbours Fan Sites Down
31st March 2006
Two major Neighbours fan sites are offline at the moment.
The internet has been growing vastly in popularity over the last few years. As far as Neighbours is concerned this allows for fan sites, such as this very site, to spring up and act as a resource for those who wish to know more about the show, it's history and interact with other fans about Neighbours.
Of course using technology to organise such data does tend to lead to the occasional problems and the growing of large sites which act as leaders for the shows presence on the internet leads to problems.
As things stand at the moment two major Neighbours sites and communities are suffering technical mishaps which are affecting both sites Neighbours forums and forcing the site owners to post messages apologising for the problems and promising to get things back on track as soon as they can.
The Perfect Blend's message board has been offline for several days now with forum's homepage displaying an sever error and a message on the site's news pge detailing that the forum will be offline for an undetermined amount of time. Since the forum is but one part of the site this problem isn't as crippling as the next but it remains problematic for the site owners and visitors until things are fixed.
Neighboursfans was born out of the ashes of Erinsborough.com fan site which was closed around a year ago. Created by the staff of the old site Neighbourfans has quickly become on of the largest Neighbours fan sites on the internet. Since the account which the site is hosted on is restricted on the amount of resources it can use has caused some problems in the past and as of today the forum has gone down again forcing the site owner to display an brief message on the homepage asking for patience as the problem is attempted to be fixed. This site is affected more than the perfectblend as, although the site has begun to expand slightly to cover an extensive episode summary archive, it is primarily forum based so all forum errors bring the site to the ground.
The internet is a fast moving place (with it being up at all times and popular sites recieving visitors at all hours of the day) so any problems with a site need to be fixed quickly. Still it may takesome time for both sites to return to normal.
