2006 Logies: Neighbours Strikes Out

Despite the stars of Neighbours dazzling and lighting up the red carpet Neighbours has had a rather disappointing night at the Logie Awards in Melbourne today.

Neighbours and its cast members were nominated in 5 categories in total, with Natalie Bassingthwaighte being the most successful getting a nomination for a Silver and the highly regarded Gold Logie. Fan's confidence was high as many got behind their favourite Neighbours cast, voting multiple times and spreading the word for other to vote, however this hasn't been reflected in the award ceremony.

The Logie Awards have always proven tricky for Neighbours with the show often being overshadowed by others including Home And Away which is often nominated in similar categories to Neighbours and generally fairs slightly better.

As an extra frustration to fans of the show the limited amount of coverage by global photography agencies seem to have again missed many of the Neighbours cast members who were set to attend the awards.
