Title: Elle Robinson
Summary: A look into possible events as Robert Robinson arrives in Erinsborough (in Australian episodes of the show) with plans to destroy Paul and his family.

Elle was running hard from her pursuer. She had never thought that things would get this bad. She had always felt uncomfortable around her brother but recent events put a new spin and showed Robert Robinson in a worse light than she could ever had imagined.

It had begun slowly with the attacks upon their father resuming, more prank phone calls and threatening letters. This had had a dramatic affect on Paul, who shrank back to his former timid self, but things only escalated from there. Paul was attacked by a masked man whilst walking to Lassiter’s and had seriously sprained his wrist. It was then that Izzy suggested they all stay close together. Thinking of Izzy made Elle’s breath catch in her throat. All animosity towards the woman and her sleazy relationship with Ned Parker had long since dissipated. She felt sad for Izzy now, with a chunk of Robert’s malicious revenge reserved especially for the new love in Paul’s life.

Of course the worse had happened as Paul grew increasingly erratic and fearful. Stuart had attempted to help out but he had his own worries with his family problems and had had to leave for his family farm back on Oakey. Paul demanded that the security camera’s be reinstalled in their home and had personal security guards keep watch on him. It hadn’t helped though, Robert was too clever.

The attacks on Paul continued and began to grow more extreme. Izzy had begun to suffer with Paul and then the attacker had begun to target her which put a strain on their family even more.

Things had come to a head earlier on in the day when Robert revealed that he was the attacker and explain how he pretended to be Cameron to lure them into trusting him allowing him to wrought a complete destruction upon them. There had been a vicious struggle as Elle released that her brother meant to kill her but Elle had managed to slip away from the street catching Robert unawares.

And now Elle was out her running for her life. She dreaded to think about what Robert would do to her when he found her so she ran. She could sense that he brother was aware of her flight and was desperately hunting her down. Elle took time to puzzle over what she had done to deserve this. Sure she had always favoured Cameron out of the twins, but that was because Rob was so damn weird. She didn’t feel she was overly mean to Robert at any point of his life, and if truth be told she had loved her brother, had being a key word as (after recent events) she was unsure they would ever have a relationship again.

Elle had no idea where she was running and was dimly aware of being surrounding by the rough terrain of the Australian countryside. He body was beginning to tire rapidly and she could feel her will to escape being gradually dulled by the desperate need to stop and catch her breath. It was then that she heard the jeep behind her. Stumbling forward she glanced round to see Max’s jeep bearing down on her with a crazed Robert behind the wheel.

Where to go now? She was lost and it would not be long until the jeep was upon her. In a desperate attempt, she dove towards a group of trees to her left in an attempt to stop Robert but she couldn’t shake him. Her time was up and she heard the jeep looming up behind her, growling like some beast of the night,  and screamed as it smashed into her from behind, throwing her up onto the bonnet and into the air. As she crashed back into the ground Elle gradually felt her consciousness slipping away from her.

When she awoke it was dark, slowly the events of the last few days came back to her. She glanced around fearfully for her brother and sighed in relief as she couldn’t see him. Whilst planning her next move though she heard a rustling in the bushes and Roberts head popped up making her jump. Robert approached Elle with a manic grin on his face. Elle tried to talk normally to him but was distracted by his stare. It was then she noticed the blood covering his clothing. She tried to get him to explain what had happened but the concern in Elle’s voice just set Robert laughing hysterically. When he finally stopped he explained to Elle in a cool manner that he spent the day “taking care” of  Izzy and Paul. Elle gasped as the implications of what this meant were clear. She screamed at her brother in frustration calling him all the foul names she could think off. Robert remained calm throughout her outburst and grinned as her yelling turn to cries for her life as he drew a huge blood stained knife from his clothing. Before he could act though Elle was off and running, grinning to himself Robert began to jog after his sister.

As soon as she had begun her new flight Elle was aware that she wasn’t going to outrun Robert. She was already exhausted to the extreme and the thing that hunted her was a cold blooded murder. Still she stumbled on, finding herself getting more lost in the bush and loose scrub which made up this part of Erinsborough. Eventually she could go no further and collapsed in a heap on the ground. Almost instantly Robert materialised out of the shadows nearby. He moved slowly towards Elle, the wicked knife in his hand drawn ready for attack. He stopped close to Elle and began a mini monologue, explaining as much to himself as Elle about the reasons for his actions. Elle had one last trick up her sleeve though and kicked out savagely at Robert’s legs, knocking him to the floor and cutting him off mid sentence.

Elle tried once more to escape from her brother and managed to crawl a few yards before stopping again. She could sense where Robert was but felt the piercing and burning as her brother plunged the knife he carried into Elle’s right leg. A scream escaped her leg as her brother twisted the knife inside the wound letting out a contented snort as he saw his sister in pain. Elle tried to think frantically about a way out of this desperate situation but couldn’t. He leg was now bleeding freely and she could feel her life slipping from her.

Robert now came in for the kill, knife drawn ready to plunge into Elle for a final time, killing her as he had Izzy and Paul. Robert raised the knife above his head. With the last of her strength fading rapidly Elle lashed out at Roberts leg in an attempt to knock him down again. She missed kicking his legs squarely but managed enough to make Robert drop the weapon he had been about to kill her with. In a swift movement, and without thinking, Elle grabbed the knife and plunged it into her brother who now lay on the floor like her. Her brother tried to rise but Elle managed to keep him on the ground. Robert convulsed several times then went still. Elle collapsed next to him, her energy spent several times over.

Elle opened her eyes to a blinding light, confused at first she remember her battle with Robert and presumed herself dead thanks to the wound in her leg. Her eyes began to adjust though and the sounds of the world began to feed there way back with the ever present chitterling of wildlife, the swishing of the wind through the plants around her and the harsh cry of a kookaburra in a tree nearby. Her senses then overwhelmed her all at once, crippling her with pain. She lay prone on the floor as she had collapsed the previous evening. She was thirstier than she had ever been before and every part of her body ached thanks to her desperate flight from her brother. These problems were soon dwarfed by the pulsating throbbing that came from her leg which had swollen and was beginning to show signs of infection. As she lay on the floor unable to move Elle smiled firmly at the cruel hand fate had dealt her. Not satisfied with letting her die at the hands of her brother she now was left to die alone in the bush, with the prospect of either hunger, thirst or the wound killing her off slowly. She had nothing to do but to wait for the end in the blinding heat of this new Australia day.

Elle got a break however when it began to rain. Sometime during the afternoon big stormed clouds rolled across the sky and the temperature dropped several degrees. Rain soon follow lashing down from the ashen skies turning the world around her into a sodden mush. The rain provided Elle with much need fluid and its cool touch as it drenched her skin helped revive some of the life into her. She managed to sit for the first time in hours, however her leg skill ached chronically. Filled with a new bout of life though Elle managed to bite through the pain and drag herself to an half standing position. Her injured leg would not take any weight and her arm hung loosely by her side with some unknown injury afflicting it. Determined now, Elle set about in a crude slouching hop to try and look for help.

She struggle for hours and was just giving up hope when she stumbled into single track road just as a vehicle sped towards her. Remember Robert suddenly Elle tried desperately to get away from the machine afraid that Robert was coming back to finish his task. She was still struggling as she heard a familiar voice calling out to her. She turned as Stuart came rushing over to her. Elle began to weep with relief as Stuart tried to find out what was wrong. Noticing her injuries he lifted Elle in his arms and carried her back to his car that he’d left on the road and bundled her inside. Quickly he drove to Erinsborough hospital to get her the help she needs. Along the way Elle tries to explain about Robert whom is still at large. Her words come out jumbled though and Stuart is left to try and calm her, encouraging her to save her strength.

At the hospital Karl notices Elle and rushes her to intensive care to receive treatment for her leg and the severe dehydration she’s suffering from. Karl asks Stu what’s happened to Elle but he explains that he knows as little as Karl does. Stuart waits in the hospital for news of Elle.

Some time later Steiger arrives to question Elle. Stuart suggests it waits for a while but Steiger explains that there are some serious discrepancies with Elle and her families behaviour of late. Stuart suggests that he be the one to go in and question Elle and Karl, who is nearby back this up telling Steiger that a familiar face and voice would probably get the most answers from Elle at this stage.

Stuart enters the hospital ward to find Elle sitting upright with bandaging and stiches covering her leg, arms and face. Stuart spends a few minutes chatting to Elle before pressing her to find out what has happened. Elle asks about how Stuart came to be out in the countryside at the same time as Elle. As Stuart explains about returning back from Oakey after spending a few weeks helping out on the farm. Whilst he’s explaining this Elle remembers Robert and blurts out his name. Stuart questions her on the name, which means little to him, and Elle shakily recounts bits of the night before. Again she remembers about something and blurts out “Izzy and Paul”. Stuart smiles at Elle and tells her that they that they should be in soon. When Elle explains what Robert told her though the smile fades from his lips and he rises to his feet calling for Stieger. He recounts what Elle has told him and the pair rush off.

The next few days pass as a blur for Elle as her body takes time to recover from recent events. She is vaguely aware of visitors in the shape of some of her friends from the street. Sky visits her several times, bringing home made “get well” cards and Stuart checks in every so often. As Elle’s strength finally returns a noticeable police presences is picked up. She questions Stuart on this the next time he visits and he explains that despite their best efforts Robert is still at large. He also tells Elle that they’ve yet to find Izzy and Paul, but there were signed of a massive struggle back at number 22 Ramsay Street which has increased the concerns of the police.

Several days after her admission to hospital and Stuart visits again this time with the good news that Izzy and Paul had been found alive, tied up in an abandoned warehouse in West Warratah. They were a bit bruised and battered and very shaken by Robert’s actions but were recovering well. He hinted that whilst Robert had left them alive it certainly seemed as though he had planned to either let them die alone in the warehouse, or return at some point and kill them himself.

15 days after her admission to hospital and Elle was well enough to be wheeled out hospital. Her damaged arm was in cast thanks to several breaks and her leg kept her wheelchair bound, but she felt much better for being out bed. Her mood was lifted even further when she was collected by both Izzy and Paul. Both still had visible scars from Robert’s attacks on them, but were full of smiles for Elle. The family spent some time in the hospital ward in silence, enjoying the strength from each other and the bond they felt from having gone through the same experience.

That day saw them return home to number 22, watched closely by several police who continued a presence around the street as Robert had yet to be found. Paul explains to Elle what had happened to Cameron who had been located by police in a hospital in northern Tasmania. He explained that everyone was unsure how he got there, or why he was registered under the name of Robert but Cameron was now doing well and was set to arrive in Ramsay Street for an extended visit in the new few weeks.

The strength of the strange family that had been moulded from the Robinson and Hoyland joining of Paul and Izzy saw them through the next few weeks as they relived the horror experienced at the hands of Robert Robinson. The police tried there best but Robert manages to avoid all of there searches and still remain at large, a worrying fact for those living in number 22 Ramsay Street.
